I'm considering an Ed Hubel 585HE or maybe the 585 AHR.
Ed's case designs reportedly result in such long lived brass.

They are delivering them. Not super fast
but getting them out. I did PH in my 585HE
Any gun that feeds Gibbs feeds 585 fine.
AND the production of decent size run of
the 585HE cases is getting set up.
Got die sets and reamers on the shelf.Ed

Hubel says:
Bertram will be running cases about July, right
after he does a run of Gibbs size cases. My base ahead
of the belt is same as Gibbs/Cheytac cases so he
will use same dies/punches for my case
that he uses for modern Gibbs cases
building different header for belt and rim.
These cases will have same strong base as the
brass I built the cases I have now, that get
over 12,500 ft lbs. Have the same strength as
high pressure Cheytac cases.
And with that size of base diameter
ahead of the belt we get a proper side taper
for strong loads to extract like they should.

I just got a price-- $3 USD-
We Talk to him by email at night.
How about 585HE 500 Club.
I like round figures in money as well as Dolly.
Get in on the fun, get me a MO/Check made
out to Bertram for $500, and that gets
you 167 cases. Of course you can get less.
The boy and I had a windfall and we
will get $2000 worth at first for us to
sell with a little markup plus shipping and supply
collectors, etc. We hope to buy more. So guys
get in at the start, cheaper for each. It would be
great if things bust loose so to speak, and
we could get a run made just like he finished
of some EU case. 75,000 pieces. ..Ed

{Some extra related info;
58 caliber is where it is at--We are working with
shotgun hunters, experimenters, 12ga FH guys, to get a
sabot built, an accurate 12ga sabot, that uses
58cal slugs. 58cal is where it is at...
And if guys do it both ways, 12ga/585HE,
I'm as happy as clam so to speak....}

We tried that and end up with sides to straight.
We had cases hanging up, and not ecem max loads.
You take .634" base Gibbs case and put about .020"
belt step, or .010" per side and new base size
ahead of a belt is about .614". Well mouth is .607"
so you total taper of both sides only about .007"
about half of what Rob's case is. Where my case
has .634" base subtract .007" mouth has .027" total
taper, about twice of the OK case.

I designed case to work in many styles of guns,
including bolt guns, but some styles don't extract as good
as bolt guns, thus a better side taper helps.I got it
in 2 FBW falling blocks, 3 different brands of break actions,
5 brands bolt guns, putting it in an O/U and Ruger #1 and 87 Win,
and got it in a Khan shotgun action used as a straight
pull bolt gun..

In all of this is the concept that most actions of all types,
guys will use, will take the length. Some poopoo the value
of extra long cases, but we get less case expansion with higher
speeds. It works because of two things.

One-It is peak pressure that mainly cause case expansion, and
two-- if you add powder to make powder column longer in
straight case or add powder by making a shorter case fatter;
we speed up the Relative Quickness(RQ) of the powder charge.
Especially in big bores. Idea is to get best speed with least expansion.
If you have straight case and short necked case with same powder amount
and same bullet, and you add powder by lengthening straight case and
making short case fatter you Increase the RQ in the straight case which
almost all goes to adding bullet speed with peak pressure hardly
increasing, relative to the other short case made fatter, where
peak pressure climbs a lot more so you have to change to slower
powder or you get more case expansion. And going to slower
powder it can't quite keep up with other style case...just physics.Ed
