(Note: The below quote is from another thread. That within { } I inserted for clarity to Ed's PH )

May we be told which brass manufacturer is making up this run of 585 HE
( http://ammoguide.com/cgi-bin/a...phNbwfRvgq&catid=699 )
brass referred to below?
Where is the rifle you refer to below now?
Using 750 grn bullets at 2200 FPS or a little slower how many times can
one piece of brass be used?
I know you have the 585 SHE also. http://ammoguide.com/cgi-bin/a...phNbwfRvgq&catid=750
But why does the 585 HE need it's full length instead of
cutting it to 3.00" even? Thank you.

Any gun that feeds Gibbs feeds 585 fine.

the 585HE cases is getting set up.
Got die sets and reamers on the shelf.Ed

I have NEF and an Enfield I tested cases for
longevity. Also there are other makes of guns in
the family. The long case makes the long life possible
and still get good velocity. Like moderate loads of
650 gr at 2400, 750 at 2200 in the NEF they
fall out if you tip the gun up, or if you don't,
you can take them out with your fingers.Well
with that lack of expansion, the cases never wear
out as long you anneal the top of the case once in while.

And of course the other reason for extra
length is to outdo my famous Montana
friend's baby. But even at 26-2700 I've fired brass
dozen times and working fine.

If it is a 3 inch case it is about like all others,
and as long as guns are around or can be built
for Gibbs, they work for mine. And Jeff and the
PHs helped. So we like to do it.

Bertram will be running cases about July, right
after he does a run of Gibbs size cases. My base ahead
of the belt is same as Gibbs/Cheytac cases so he
will use same dies/punches for my case
that he uses for modern Gibbs cases
building different header for belt and rim.
These cases will have same strong base as the
brass I built the cases I have now, that get
over 12,500 ft lbs. Have the same strength as
high pressure Cheytac cases.
And with that size of base diameter
ahead of the belt we get a proper side taper
for strong loads to extract like they should.

Some extra related info;
58 caliber is where it is at--We are working with
shotgun hunters, experimenters, 12ga FH guys, to get a
sabot built, an accurate 12ga sabot, that uses
58cal slugs. 58cal is where it is at...
And if guys do it both ways, 12ga/585HE,
I'm as happy as clam so to speak....

I just got a price-- $3 USD-
We Talk to him by email at night.
How about 585HE 500 Club.
I like round figures in money as well as Dolly.
Get in on the fun, get me a MO/Check made
out to Bertram for $500, and that gets
you 167 cases. Of course you can get less.
The boy and I had a windfall and we
will get $2000 worth at first for us to
sell with a little markup plus shipping and supply
collectors, etc. We hope to buy more. So guys
get in at the start, cheaper for each. It would be
great if things bust loose so to speak, and
we could get a run made just like he finished
of some EU case. 75,000 pieces. ..Ed

Ed

Do you have a contact at Bertram that I could get? I would like to speak to them about some of the B&M brass as well?

Michael

Talk to Bruce the boss.

Email- b.bertram1@bigpond.com

PH- 011 613 57 922 912

To those folks who would get in on the original order in the
US, with my first big order, he will send the whole order to me
in one big shipment, and I will send them on to you
with no shipping charge for helping us get this going..
That saves him a lot of handling and shipping cost , which
made for a decent price. Save a buck each.
Those in Australia he can ship right to them.
And also if good large cartridge storage is needed
Huntington's has big enough slip top plastic boxs- # XL20S
for $3.30 ea, holds 20.Nice strong cartridge boxes.Ed
