alf showing off his beautiful 416 on "i love the 416 because" and "your dream rifle" on the medium bore board made me want to start this. some of you already own your dream rifles, most of them custom and not in stores or magazines so show them off for us, this gives you an excuse without seeming boastfull or naana na naaaa naa. people here are the only ones who can appreciate such beauties...they can be well used field grade or presidential museum quality, but please please i beg you no tacky rifles like that overdone weatherby that 500 grains posted a while back. the only thing that was missing was hydrolics and chrome mud flaps

p.s.!...please give a run down on them, maker, gunsmith, custom work

Here is my favorite. It is a 375 H&H built by Dennis Olson. It has a 26" Douglas premium barrel and Bell & Carlson carbelite stock. It originally started life as a woodstocked 300 H&H. Still working up the loads for it. Right now I am using a load that Ray posted on one of the forums. It is a 270 gr Speer loaded over 70 gr of 4064. I am going to see how this load does on elk this year and maybe mule deer too. With kids in college and sundry other reasons it was a long time in getting here.

mauser model M

Here is one of my prize guns! An original Mauser from Oberndorf.. first Model M in 8x57I.
The gun is made in 1914 and is almost unused!. It shoots very accurate! I found the gun for $250 in a junkpile here in Denmark!.

Well.......
Ifound the gun last year in my gunmakers workshop in a pile of junkers!. It was full of dust and hadn`t been touched in years and years!

The owner who play Golf got it many years ago from a noW deceast friend from the golfclub who had retired hunting, and didn`t now what to do with the gun!. Niels (the gunmaker) took it in his shop and there it was almost forgotten UNTIL I CAME AROUND. There was no pricetag on the gun but Niels believed it should be atleast Kr1200( 230-250$) worth, And I believed him (haha)!.

This one's my favorite because my wife gave it to me Smiler it's a Custom pre-64 Model 70 in 338 Win Mag. I've changed the scope since, it now wears a 1.5X5X20 (30mm tube) Leupold with an illuminated German #4 reticle. It'll be with me in a leopard blind on my next safari,,,,,jorge

you asked for it....this is a .404 Jeffery built on a MRC 1999 action a MRC barrel that I threaded, chambered and installed a Dakota 1/4 rib with london folding sights. It has Talley barrel band and swivels and NECG banded front sight. Ahlman's of Morristown Minnesota did the mat finish bluing.

Stock was routed by a guy in South Dakota.....I no longer work with him... and I glass beddit to the barreled action, floated the barrel, Tongue oil finish and checkered it. Cross bolts are direct from Brownells. Ebony forend tip and grip cap are mine as well. The decelerator pad I installed is a great piece and works well.
Charlie, my chocoilate labrador helped with the photos.

Classy stuff! I even like the dog! Seriously, that is one great piece of wood in a classic caliber. Well done!
