Guys,
Many of you have seen posts and know or conversed with my/our Friend Dave Bush. Wayne Jacobson of AHR thought I should let you know that Dave is near the end of his battle with cancer.

After nearly 4 years the loss of half of one leg he has gut up a good fight but is coming to the end. He is in a care home on Hospice. Although the family does not want a flurry of calls or cards but rather prayers for Dave.

He never did realize his dream of going to Africa and going fact to face with MBOGO. Dave and our small group of BIG Bore shooters had a blast literally and pun intended.

For those of you who want to go but maybe are a little money short or just don't know if you really should go; Dave and I would both tell you to "GO NOW, WHILE YOU CAN!".

We'll keep you all posted.

GOD Bless,

The display of PURE POWER is nothing short of AWESOME !

I had begun wondering about Dave about a month or so ago, as his posts here on AR all but disappeared. Someone at DSC told me he wasn't doing well.

I never met Dave, but spoke to him on the phone once concerning his purchase of a 500NE. He and I exchanged many PMs and discussions on the public side of AR. We didn't see eye to eye on many things but discussing and debating with Dave was always respectful, friendly, and enjoyable. I'm very sad to hear of his condition. May God bless and care for him in his final days and beyond.

Very sad to hear.... I was thinking of where Dave was the last few days in fact, I was somewhat concerned and was afraid I would hear of this very
thing...... Thanks 500 Fan for keeping us posted. If possible, please convey to Dave and family that his friends here on AR are thinking of him....
Tell him if you can, I am sure that there is a place for old shooters and old friends to meet up again, a place where we can sit around the stove on
cold days and rehash rifles, bullets, and cartridges. Keep a place for us, as we will be along directly.............

I just sent Dave an email the other day, as I hadn't heard from him in a while, and feared the worst. I was going to offer to buy his K-guns, figuring the money would be more important at this time than the guns. I'm heartbroken...Dave and I conversed quite often.

Dave and I had some serious disagreements, but last April I reached out to him and we resolved our history. We have since discussed his DR sale and other things. I am glad we did and I wish him a swift transition to whatever comes next.

Dave and I were fast friends on AR, We had many discussions, both on the double rifle forum, and by PMs. He loved to tease me about Blaser double rifles, saying I need a few of them in various chamberings. I, on the other hand, told him he should trade his Blaser in on a good Sabatti with ground muzzles. Big Grin All in fun, and I will miss his posts here, and the PMs we shared over the years.

My sincere condolences for his illness, My prayers will be for his comfort from pain in his passing. This website and the hunting/shooting world will be at a loss for loosing him, and I personally feel the loss of a friend! CRYBABY

Dave Bush is a hero, gone too soon. He did more than 8 seconds on that bull named "Fu Manchu."
He'll make it to the happy hunting grounds soon, it seems, but he won't be soon forgotten, and I hope to join him there one day.
Prayers and condolences to Dave, his family and friends.
