It is sad that the Elmer Keith museum is closing. I never got a chance to go up and see it. I love single action revolvers, and the Keith #5 is the most iconic/famous custom single action revolver ever made. Now it will be stuck in someone's collection, and not seen again for a long time. Wish I could have seen it in person just once.

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

Matt, I did see #5 several years ago when Elmer's son Ted had it at the NRA Annual convention in St. Louis. Maybe 1988? Ted was most personable. I was in awe. I agree with you, shame it won't be available to the shooting public to view. I never made it to Elmer's museum either, wish I had.

I was fortunate enough to be living in Salmon ID in the seventies and got to handle most of those guns at Elmer's home up on the bench.
