Hey I'm happy to contribute any way I can!!

I would have a lot more time on my hands if I wasn't working with everyone here but I would miss the challenge and the humor. Besides where else could I conspire with the Horse's Meow of the shooting sports all gathered in one cyber quagmire!!!

Thanks for the opportunity to participate mein freunds!

Hey Macifej...
how about making a true DG levergun with the 550 by making a 2" 550 magnum... try to get those 615's @ 1900 fps for about 5,000 fpe

this will be more practical than the metric 45-70 you designed...

think of it as a fat 450 marlin...

can you dress up a dummy??? I can photoshop it but...

cut a 460 case @ 2" and stuff with a factory second 550???

call it the 550 short mac-ifej Big Grin

Easy enough Boomer! But why cut it stumpy? How about making a 700 NE lever gun?? You have to start from scratch on the receiver anyway as the Marlin won't hang with those kinds of mechanical forces.

I have two really big projects in the works right now besides making bullets but I have been thinking about a big ass lever gun for a looooong time! hillbilly

thanks mac...

well you can get a used marlin and alter it for about $1500...

Someone in yer position can go wild...

so if you increase the dimensions by 50% you could do some crazy #$%@

the 550 short mac could go in a short action or a lever action without too much bother... in the short action maybe get another 100 fps.

yeah.. degine reasonable... a 2" case aint gunna be "reasonable" to make ~90% of the speed of the 2.65" case... mebbe 1500 to be under 45K

but 45K at about 100% more surface area...

bolt thrust and broke actions.. remember, those levers guns can be hopped up, they AINT turnbolt guns

The 550 magnum I reffer to is a blown out WBY case...
maybe Neil has a couple headstamped 550 cases that have met their maker to pass on...

Will reimburse for cost and shipping if possible to send some. Thanks...
