Anyone ever make a 600-577 T-Rex?
It would be on the top end of stopper cartridges
Brass is not an issue anymore

Yes, the 600 OK is better in a handful of ways and lacks nothing.

There is enough shoulder left to go up in bore size.

A 308 in between two Rexi

What case is the 577 T Rex based on. Some rimmed case like a 600 Nitro converted to rimless?

I think the Nyati’s parent case the 577?
The 600 has a .698” case head and the T-Rex is .685”. If you can’t kill it with a 577, you need to go smaller I think Big Grin

I also thought Nyati was based on 577 case.

If the 600 Nitro is .698" and the T Rex is .685 what is the T Rex based on? A 600 Nitro converted to rimless and swaged down??

you guys are picking fly specs from monsters piles -- just cut the shoulder off either case and neck down to 600 -- the nyati, using the gibbs case FACE diameter, works on enfields easy enough ...

but, by this point, I had grown bored of lighting off monsters on my shoulder and can't stand 18# guns ..

it's a nonstarter

I am getting old and even more forgetful. Was this the chambering of the rifle our friend Saeed used to hand to the unsuspecting in his underground range and invite them to shoot it?

Cool

That is the 577 T-Rex. Just add 150 grains to the bullet and 30 thou to the diameter for a bigger whallop BOOM

I believe calibers like .577 T-Rex and .585 Hubel Express are "full pressure rounds". You can load them for 65k PSI. You can use 1000 grain+ HC bullet if you need extra pain.

My 585 HE rifle is just 10 pounds 8.4 oz. 750 grain Woodleigh bullet at 2400 fps is "more than enough" for most people. It is starting load ;-)

Here is my friend shooting that: https://youtu.be/KWvkynk-goc

I don't feel any need for bigger round ;-)
