What would be involved, other than a barrel change and re-chamber in changing a Ruger m77 MKII in .338 wm to .375H&H. This is not the new Hawkeye.

Opening action up for longer cartridge, new magazine box, and stock change for the .375 H&H. Re-barrel only for the .375 Ruger.

Might want to sell the rifle and buy a new 375 beit ruger or HH.

Rifle magazine had an article about it a few years back. It's on my to-do list this winter. I have a RSM that's about 4lb overweight!

Yep ... all using factory parts. I have a Ruger 375H&H follower and magazine spring, waiting on the box to do something similar in the distant future. You can build a trim Ruger in 375H&H to rival a Rem700 ... but the 375Ruger remains a factory easier option.
Cheers...

Thanks for the info. I have 2 Ruger M77's in .338 and I was looking to do some changing to one of them and I thought .375 H&H.

Here's another vote for the 375 or 416 Ruger, very minimal cost involved

I just question the availability of .375 Ruger ammo. I don't reload. But I know I can find .375 H&H ammo here in the USA without much difficulty and I know I can find it in Africa if my ammo gets lost. Thats the only problem I have with the .375 Ruger.
