Tom- outstanding! I like the fluted barrel and integral brake alot! That stock while nice weighs a ton though. You might consider talking to Mike Manners about a carbon fibre stock. A copper 900gr cup point borerider over 150gr of IMR7828 should be comfortable in that gun and still get close to 1900fps. There may be some recoil reduction inherent in the design to help too.-Rob

Thanks Rob! Now,how do I get ahold of this Mike Manners? Is he with Lone Wolf Stocks as he can build me one under a pound! clap...The Brockman wasnt my first choice, but only choice for now,so we went with it....It is 44 ounces in pic,but we are removing the 6 ounce pad and replacing w/1 ounce fiber pad, drilling butt out with two deep 1" holes and that should get me down about 10 ounces lighter, then BOOMSTICK will be happy too!..More pics to come real soon! thumb patriot

KId,
I know I am a good one to be talking about recoil, but do you realize that 8 pounder is going to have 243 ft.lbs of recoil at 43'/sec!!! OUCH!! I sure hope that slot brake works REAL GOOD. 16" barrel, that is a real shorty huh.

GLZ is right its Tom Manners. I have one of those stocks on a .50BMG and its NICE. BTW I found lots of small 1/8 inch holes work way better than slots as a internal muzzel brake. See if they can drill some for you.-Rob

Beautiful, but .... GOOD GOD!!! Eeker

Next you'll be simply grafting a barreled action to your forearm!!! BOOM

I'd like to make a request:
Ask someone to take a long-exposure picture of that thing blasting off at night - it has to look like a flame-thrower!

WOW!

Another rifle brought to you by Safarikid's trademarked line - "HURTS". A free sling and reuseable ice pak with every purchase. Spokesmodel dressed in black leather boots swinging a cat-o-nine tails. The preferred firearm for bad, bad boys.

Why do I get this mental image of that Bill Murray character from "Little Shop of Horrors"?

Have to agree - I would never have considered less than 26" before seeing pictures of Tom's 600 OK and 700AHR. Of course, Ed twisted my arm a bit - but he was right.

A few have asked,why the hell a 16" 50 Alaskan,600 Overkill and I relplied"Because 15" is Illegal" ! LOL! Big Grin

Excuse my ignorance, what action is being used, I assume it would work well with a 338 Lapua.

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Sorta..
cz550 magnum.. which works good with a 416 rigby, which, when shortened, is the parent case of the 338 lapua.

BUT ---
A bit of a waste to use to make a target rifle on
