Bitteroot...Question.

On the Web site you say the bullet is .685"

As far as I knew the 700 is .700"

Did you mean the gun is a .685 bore?

If this be true you have a proprietary bullet and barrel.

Nothing wrong with that but just wanted some clarification.

Thanks.

Safarikid did much of the asthetic design. He chose the stock blank, fore-arm length, barrel length and taper, jeweling, etc. He wanted it no heavier than 11 lbs. We hit 10 3/4 with scope. We all know he will use it too. It won't be a safe queen.

What is the standard velocity with the 1,000 grainers?

Here is a guess...

Enter Bullet Weight in Grains: 1000
Enter Bullet Velocity in fps: 2300
Enter Powder Weight in Grains: 160
Enter Gun Weight in Pounds: 10.75

Recoil Energy of 255 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 39 fps.

That shouls be a walk in the park for Safarikid Big Grin

It is a magnum Mauser clone with claw extractor and controlled feed. The extractor blends in to the bolt because of the jeweling.

Thanks! She does have a Muzzle Brake and AHR designed it to my request, not to be able to tell it does when not attached-no big cap or knob on the end..it is threaded UNDER the Muzzle band for the front sight! Perfecto!...OK,Just shot the beast earlier today and she has alot of horsepower!! Rips through a telepone pole and still raises Huge clumps of mud in the air behind it! Smiler..Recoil with Brake is not bad(to me) and without break, well, lets say there is a "difference"!This baby balances perfect and feeds the Huge rounds effortlessly.I do like this GMA action alot, more massive and better suited for this behemoth round! Thanks AHR!....Now,back to the drawing board for a 800AHR! (pleeease?!)

Safarikid...

The largest that makes sense is the 10 bore on the BMG case by screwing on a belt to the casehead (not the rim)of the 50BMG case.

It can be formed on the case as well if you were to do a run of brass. I think you just add an extra step in the forming of 50 BMG basic or make new tooling to form the whole bottom of the case in one shot.

I nicknamed this "Godzilla"

Basicly a 10 bore bolt action cart.

It would be 90 thou bigger than the 700 AHR

Traditionaly after 600 guns went by bore size.

But more practical still is the 12GFH or a 20 thou shouldered version without the rim. I drew up a 3" and 3.8" version and they would still shoot 12 Gauge on a single shot. I called it the 12 Gauge/Bore rimless. It would control headspace on the shoulder vs. the rim. It has been done before but I dont know the specs. I kinda like the 3" version.

Or open up Ed's 700 HE or Jeffeosso's 700 DA to the .729" for the belt formed on the BMG case way.

Glad you like your new rifle.

Just curious about a couple of things.

How many rounds does this ThunderBolt hold in the magazine box?

How does it feed? Is it reliable?

Thanks
