Nice, but it could be better. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Jeffe I really thought someone would take me to task for talking smack. My post was in response to shootaway's post post regarding a Wiebe rifle a while back:

I just wanted to make sure that everyone, especially shootaway and Mr. Satterlee, understood that I was just ribbing shootaway. It doesn't get any better than the barreled action in question. I often have the urge to sell off all my rifles and have a top quality pair of rifles built to use in all of my hunting. A Satterlee(or the Weibe that shootaway was commenting on) would be rifles I would be happy to take everywhere. My post was tongue-in-cheek. Shootaway's barreled action is more than "nice", it could not get any better. Maybe different, but not better. BTW shootaway, just once could you take the bait? It sure would make me feel better. ![]() Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. I remember the post I made,Jason.I am surprised anyone remembered it.I don't think it could better than the rifle that I was talking about either, just different.I am glad you like the barreled action.I am sure that if I chose one of the stockmakers that hang around here,or if was chambered for a wildcat instead,it would also turn out super nice.

RM is one of only a handful of stock-builders who are universally regarded as world class. You will have a rifle that will be world class. I can't wait to see the finished product. Very nice indeed, I swap you a a very rare rifle for it , a working and slightly used Montana ph in 505 Gibbs, and throw in 3 lbs of New Orleans own coffee and chicory. I know you are thinking why the coffee. Its important that you learn to drink the coffee before shooting the 505, once you can handle the coffee, you won't notice the 505 recoil. I hope it will be rust blued with classical English walnut oil finished by hand! I can just visualise the heart stopping look of the rifle. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."
