CowboyCSMy Father is doing much better this week. Other than one afternoon/evening that I was Judging a Forensics meet at the High School I managed to spend most of the week working. I still didn't get as far as I had wanted but it's progressing right along.

I might be just dense tonight but I'm not understanding the reference you are making, could you elaborate please? Are you referring to the Forensics Meet?
15 April 2012, 17:35
jeffeossoColin
Nfl in reference to Forensics meant, to me, national Forensics league or NFL, which is loosely speach and debate. One letters at 250+ points which usually happens in ones senior year or late jr.

bigdoggy2borethanks for the update Clon. Cool rifle. Your son certainly had a one of a kind car for his prom!

CowboyCSJeffeosso, makes perfect sense now...I just wasn't getting the "NFL" abbreviation. I knew I was just being dense last night but I couldn't think of anything but National Football League.
Bigdoggy, he definitely had a cheshire cat grin when he left to pick up his date. It took me about two years to put that truck together and I'm still not done. I need to get a set of rear fenders on it and put a set of running boards between the cab and the rear fenders to tie it all together. That was the first time I let him drive it without me along...it has a small block chevy engine in it and a powerglide tranny and is really light weight so it's squirrelly as hell in the rear end. Then on top of all of that it's right hand drive, so not the best combination to turn over to a hormone filled teenager but he brought it back the same as it left. My son told me there was only one other kid with a really nice ride at prom, he drove a 68 Mustang. He was pretty pleased with being allowed to take my truck.

Well it's getting closer anyways. I have a lot of full build documentation on my stolzergunsmithing.webs.com site. 8 bore build, couple different 2 bore builds, and lots of other pictures.
I don't think I would make for very interesting TV viewing, in case you didn't notice from the videos I don't communicate very well when I'm speaking on the fly...a lot of umms ahhhs pauses and fumbling for words.

boom stickWell the video editors can work miracles. You just need a few shop monkeys to add drama and fun. Gun shows are popular and your projects would be interesting. Sons of Guns is half guns half soap opera. Hire some good shooting eye candy and another assistant and pow!

CowboyCSThis question seems to come up on most of the Muzzleloading forums and a few other gun forums pretty regularly. Usually it is being asked by a first time builder but sometimes just a guy who has never taken his lock apart. So I put together a short video on how I disassemble a lock and the proper tools required.
This is only semi-related to the 2 Bore build in that the lock I took apart is one of the donor parts locks for this project. But I thought it would be useful information to put out there.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di4VhHeUxgohttp://stolzergunsmithing.word...mbly-tutorial-video/I hope this helps.

CowboyCSHope this was soon enough for you Bigdoggy.
I might compile the whole set when I am done and sell it on dvd, it really depends on how much interest there is and what it costs me to have the DVDs produced.
More Progress...

No wonder the one-off, custom, bespoke 2-bore-brass-BP-cartridge-firing, Jones underlever, hammer double rifle is so expensive.
Gunsmiths gotta eat too.

I forget, is this the first ever in the world history?

Actually this is why all Double Rifles are expensive, it's the labor involved. Custom one-off guns even more so.
BUT, mine aren't as expensive as most people assume. I eat but I don't eat Filet Mignon and Caviar everyday.
To the best of my knowledge and research this is the first time a 2 bore has been built in a double rifle.

boom stickSee if you can get the Guiness book of worlds records to certify it as the worlds largest.
Will you be making a removable stock for your two bore pistol? Might come in handy for "plinking" lol.
20 May 2012, 14:39
bigdoggy2boreFrom my research, I can't find any other double deuce guns out there. Pretty sure this is the first.
