Thanks!I see that you are new here as it is one of the most popular of the Ultra Big Bores here on AR....Lots of us have them...This is #7 for me...You need to get one! thumb
It is it's own case and AHR sells them and the rifles. This one is was made for me by Bijou Creek Rifles...900 grains at anywhere from 1800 to 2500 fps! (Not for Girley Men!) shame

SAFARIKID,

THAT is BEAUTIFUL !!!

Love the stock and metal work is simply outstanding.

Good luck wth your latest toy.

Some day, my stainless PH action will be mated to a stainless, fluted barrel. Now that I have seen that bastogne wood, I might have to change from a laminate stock to that!

What's on the menu for target practice?

Stay well,
Paul

No parent case.
robgunbuilder invented it . . basically a belted 600 NE with a gibbs case head, and CAN be loaded beyound what a mere mortal can shoot... or at 600NE balistics, is easy in a bolt gun

Gorgeous rifle!! However after shooting the monsters at the big bore shoot in Juliff, I think I'll stick with a 4 bore--even though it'll take me 10 years to save the cash for one.

Fantastic piece of work Tom, but I am concerned about you being able to carry it very far. This is the bench rest version, am I correct?

Very nice looking rifle by the way Big Grin.

Put me in for a copy of the video.
Eeker
I'll be waiting nearby in the M.A.S.H. unit for delivery. I believe we do have orthopedic, maxillofacial and ophthalmogic surgeons in our midst on AR, so they should be on standby as well. coffee

I do shoot my 600OK without the muzzle brake but: a)at no higher velocity than 2,200fps; and 2)my rifle is just over a pound heavier than SAFARIKID's. BOOM

Even with AHR's massive muzzle brake AND when my 600OK weighed 13lbs (prior to it's Bitterroot diet) the torque and recoil of a 900grain slug at 2,445fps were IMPRESSIVE to say the least! shocker

Stay well,
Paul

Oh and as far as muzzle brakes go, when we were in Zimbabwe recently, I asked our PH, tracker and game scout (all individually and pivately)if it was OK for my dad to use his muzzle brake on his 585AHR.

Each said "Not a problem." I reiterated my question after clarifying that it could simply be screwed off and each responded it was fine either way.

I have not measured dB difference between braked vs. unbraked for either 600OK or 585AHR. I can say that lateral muzzle blast is substantially greater with the brake.

The difference in "loudness" was, to me imperceptable unbraked vs. braked standing about two feet behind and to the right my dad's right shoulder as he fired the 585 in practice before we left for our safari.

I'm guessing you guys haven't seen the video of me shooting the 2 Bore I recently finished.
3000grains at 1300FPS in 24 pound rifle =
Recoil Energy of 335 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 30 fps. According to the calculator.

The links to the videos are in this thread:
2 Bore Boxlock

I shoot big bores all the time so shooting the 600OK without a muzzlebrake really doesn't intimidate me any.
BTW that is a very nice looking rifle.
