I wanta make a 416 Ruger Rifle but my gunsmith wants it in factory form first so I can shoot factory ammo also.Has anyone else herd of it coming out?I still have a very nice Ruger tang safety 7mm rem mag that I want to convert to a Ruger 416.Will the 416 Ruger be any faster than the 416 Remmag with 400 gr bullets.I was going to convert my Winchester model 70 to a 416 ultra mag but it became too valuable to do so.I think a 416 Ruger in A tang safety mark one will be anice gun to have.I like tang safteys a million times over a model 70 safety.

I have heard nothing of such a critter. I doubt that it would outperform the .416 Rem. Mag. if it is just the .375 Ruger necked up to shoot .426 bullets...... "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."

don't hold your breath...if they announce it at the SHOT show in February it will take six months to a year...minimum to see them. Get your reamer and go happy. Rich DRSS

would basically be the same capacity as a 416 rem, and the 416 AR is larger!! i would look for a 338 ruger before a 416... FAR more people will buy the 338 jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Wildcatting gun dudes I have a question. What kind of numbers will the .338 Ruger give with a 250 gr bullet? Will it beat a .330 Dakota by much?

Nah, the .330 Dakota is a fatter case diameter than the Ruger (.544" instead of .532" max head), and Dakota case length is about the same at 2.570" vs. Ruger 2.580" length, so a .338/.375Ruger will choke in the dust from the .330 Dakota racing ahead of it.

Thanks, Wildcatting gun dude RIP.

You are welcome, surestrike. Now I am ambivalent about the wildcatter association ... Nah, that's O.K. since boomie is only an armchair wildcatter. Real wildcatters can still hold their heads high.

I have a nice barreled action for sale. Mauser, Lothar Walther barrel, Talley rings handfitted, M-70 type 3 way safety, Talley bolt, Timney trigger, chambered to 417/375 Ruger...I am still working on it but its near completion, and I will sell it. If they come out with the .416 this will shoot factory ammo. I am told by Jim Wisner that a 338 short box will work, so will probably order a Blackburn or a Sunnyhill. If interested email me, I am also making a 404/375 Ruger. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
