I would run a 458 wsm reamer in it and use 45-70 bullets for the baddest little rig there ever was.

2.360-2.370 is the magazine box length on these.

458 SOCOM formed off of 50 Alaskan brass with the rim trimmed off to .532 and an extractor groove added seem to feed pretty well.

50 Alaskan trimmed as above to 1.620" overall length seems to feed pretty well too with 450g and less bullets.

What bullet were you using that was short enough out of the Marlin to get it to feed? Isn't case length 2.1" on those?

Turning it into a bloated 45-70 via a wsm case is such a cool idea!

Think of it as a scaled down 585 Nyati

other than being being a pipebomb, think 500gr at 2000 fps .. you have to do a 458b&m to get 2150

And show us pictures!!! WSSM actions are available at throw away prices. A 458x2" would be a sweetheart if it fits and functions.
Cheers...

Macifej's racial slur in Mr. Atkinson's classified began a frenzy that led to the entire post being deleted.

Subsequent name calling in Macifej's 666 Teufel thread has been deleted.

Once both of you remove your name calling comments, this post will be deleted and my signature line will be edited.

That will be the end of it.

Why would I do that when you're doing an excellent job of making a fool of yourself trying to force your opinion on everyone else here through extortion. Wink

Just out of interest, are WSSM actions the same size as WSM action ?

Or are they slightly smaller ?

1/2" shorter, mag box is 2.360"

They are rather plentiful and INEXPENSIVE around here right now, often cheaper than what CDNN has them listed for on clearance.
