Just increased my total to 6. We should be getting close to the 400 number.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with all 6 but I'm sure I'll use them up at some point.

As of now I'm thinking I'll do this:
500 Mbogo
500 A2 (The one I have is 9 lbs and beats me up every time I touch it off)
550 Mag (I want to have a 22-23" barrel for this one)
510-600
550-600
and maybe a Laupa case necked up as far as it will go. I'm not decided on this one yet.

I'll bring it to TX this fall and you can take it out for a dance. I built it years ago for Africa. Wanted a light, stopper and this is what I came up with. It's light and stops ....on both ends. I still think my #3 45-70 hurts a lot worse. Makes the 600 Ok into a pussy cat.

I think I may need another 470 Mbogo so the Laupa idea may get shelved. I've got a few months to think about it and will probably change my mind a number of times until I have to decide. Although I do need to get barrels ordered. Better get things finalized.

Jeffe-I think what makes it hurt so bad is that it has a 13.75 LOP and it is too short for me. I need to restock it sometime.

Did you decide what you're going to do with the 602?

I would like to have one of these.

To get on the list do you have to pay for the action upfront or just pay a deposit?

adrook - I would give MRC a call to verify but I believe the way it is going to work is that there will be no charges applied until they begin the run. At that time they will collect the monies and use those funds to finance the tooling to make the PH action. The deal, for those on the inital run, is that they get your cash before the actions are shipped but you get a $200-300 dollar discount.

it sounds like a deal with me!

Three is all the bank account could stand, else I'd have four.

I'm in for one, I talked to them yesterday. According to Dan at MRC there are no deposits required you pay for the actions when they are ready to ship.

I just placed my order for one as well, one is all I could do. It will be fun thinking about what to chamber....I'm thinking 470mbogo, 500mbogo, or maybe just the plain old 416 rigby; no belts for this guy, just my preference. I might consider a 505 gibbs....ahhhh what choices I have. I've always wanted something in the 1/2" bore size.

there will be plenty of mbogo's when this comes out! saami not too far behind i hope...

we could do a group chambering of the mbogo and save money i think.

Boom Stick for President!!! You can run on the platform of "One MRC PH action in every pot...".
Dan Lilja informs me there are no flies on his 338-416 Sniper cartridge for anything except Elephantz and Cape Buffalo, that piddly 3/8" bore rule notwithstanding!! Monster plains game rifle.

Make that four PH actions:

338-416
416 Rigby
510 Kayser Express or RIUP's 500 M'bogo
550 Magnum

Ah yes, and make that a drop box that will take four 550 Magnum rounds if you please.

Every one with actions ordered puleeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz Email/call MRC and request extended magazine to hold four 550's.

thanks,

Rich

iss

why not the 338 lapua???

what could be the diff in velocity @ the same preasure between the wildcat and the original. same case design...the lapua was designed from the rigby. use the long action to stick the bullets out further

but my favorite lapua rifle is the armalite!!!

probably only 150 fps between them. but one mans crazy is anothers hobby thumb

Dan sez "less pressure at the same velocity or 150+fps more at the same pressure".

my vote is lapua and stick the bullets out further to make up some of the diff but yooz wont be able to tell the diff i dont think...thumb

@ 3000 fps 3150 wont do much more.

yer gunna need at least a 26" barrel

this would be the best 1600 bucks you could spend on a bolt action rifle

Does anyone know if they will start making these once we get to 400 actions on order or at some point after that?

Yeah, I found out after I ordered it; but I'm not sure I want to go any bigger right now, and I've always wanted a Lott anyways. Plus the P.h. is cheaper than the magnum action. In the future I'll have the option to rebarrel bigger If I want to.
