My 700 bbl came in from Pac Nor last week...

Looks awesome...
When will CH4D have dies ready for the 700 H 3.25"???
Getting antsy waiting on MRC...
At least they are taking the time to make sure it's being done right...

borntohuntHi Guys,

Thanks,
BTH

GrandpasezNot until they get a few hundred of right

complete set of molds and tooling.Ed

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Whats the countdown on these, seems like we're getting warmer. Rodney.
31 October 2008, 09:49
GrandpasezThey are working on finishing stages of first run. I think
they would like to sell 400 right handed ones
to be flush enough to do the lefties.Ed

Big EarlWhen I talked with them 7 months ago or so they were more leaning towards making the mini action before the left handed action P.H.'s. Has this changed?
01 November 2008, 03:44
GrandpasezI think that is what they plan on as they got
quite a bit of interest in a small action.Ed

Big EarlYep, I have five of the Mini's on order and another half dozen are on order by my clients.
12 November 2008, 06:00
Big EarlTalked with Jeff at Montana Rifle Company today. The PH right hand chrome-moly actions are about to go out for heat treatment. After they are returned they will be inspected and if everything looks good, sent out. Expect another month or two. He is leaning on finishing all the PH versions before going to the Mini’s. This is subject to change. Anyone waiting on the mini’s, it will be another year or two.

GrandpasezI shot a few of Tom's Copperhead Custom
825Gr jkt 700 bullets in the long and short
700s. They work great and he has a cannalure
on them for crimping.. Loaded down a little
to 2400 great for hogs, etc..Young guys here
get a kick out of stuffing my 3.25" case in
the old Enfield and watching or shooting
it. Neat old/new engineering.Ed

msorensoWhat kind of velocity comes form the 700 he 3.25
18 November 2008, 01:47
GrandpasezIn Enfield with rear lugs I set up, 1800
to 2400 with 825gr. In the MRC PH it
will be able to run full pressures and
get 2800 plus.Ed

GrandpasezA bunch of 585HE reloading dies will be done in 3-4
weeks and I'll have some here. Then they'll
do the 700H. MRC is supposed to have couple prototype
PH actions at the Orlando Shot Show I heard.
Plan on delivery next month. I hope.Ed

Big EarlFebruary of which year?
18 January 2009, 21:34
MontanaJeffFor those of you who did not come to SHOT Show, I have one here and the rest are in line finishing up. Some will hopefully ship out next week with the rest following soon. Sorry for the delay but I will also post some pictures asap here and on our website.

Big EarlAnxious! What is the size of the bridge tops? Some of us are planning to make custom rings and bases.
19 January 2009, 03:41
Woodrow SThats great news indeed.
19 January 2009, 04:15
Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Thanks Jeff for the update, I'm really looking forward to having a masterpiece built on the "PH". I've narrowed mine down to two chamberings so maybe I will just have to buy another one. Rodney.
19 January 2009, 10:43
Idaho Sharpshooterwhat Rodney said, but I ordered two at the beginning. One for Ed's 585 HE, but the other is still up in the air. I miss the 505 Gibbs I traded off last year, but it would be redundant with my 550 Gibbs and a 585 HE. Perhaps the 475 Gibbs...?

MontanaJeffSorry Guys, I want to answer all your questions but I just got back in the office and I have 357 messages, I gotta get to work and get this project finished. I was hoping to have a dealer going to SCI this week that could take my protoype so people there could see it but the one I had backed out of going. Are there any of my dealers on here going this week?
21 January 2009, 22:40
MontanaJeffOK for those of you going to SCI I just drop shipped my prototype ( without firing pin assembly because I don't want to send one with a broken firing pin assembly as they require). It will be in booth 744 Ryan Breeding Rifle Maker and also in booth 747 Evolution USA. Please stop by so you can see what it will be like.

GrandpasezRich called from Reno SCI and said he caressed the
PH at Ryan Breeding's Booth 744. Said magazine
is huge and will take 700H/585HE cases with
room to spare.Ed
MZEE WA SIKU
24 January 2009, 23:38
jeffeossoWill it take the original 577 BME and 700 DA?
25 January 2009, 04:10
GrandpasezRich said he will have pics when he's back.
It will take any cases shorter than my
585HE of that range of sizes. and it takes
700H 3.25" or 700DA 3". It would do my
long 700HE singleshot...Ed

25 January 2009, 07:39
Idaho Sharpshooterthe pictures will show the 3.818" long original Boomie 3" case with the monstrous 1018gr cast bullet in it; fitting (with room to spare) in the magazine box. A guy might get four round in the magazine, but I can't say for sure. It's a beauty, in a Hummer or anvil sort of way!
You won't believe how sweet it is...

GrandpasezRich is sending pics and the boy will get them
uploaded to host so I can show them. My 585HE is 3.85"
loaded with 750 gr and plenty of room in the
PH magazine over 4" long. And my 700H loads
3.90" long.Ed.

25 January 2009, 17:44
CCMDocMaybe the photos don't capture the proportions properly, but it seems as if that loaded round is a tad longer than the magazine box. Just the photo?

25 January 2009, 21:31
boom stickRich can respond but I think they fit 3 down and with the extended mag 4 down. The angle and perspective makes the Mag look smaller.
26 January 2009, 01:56
Idaho Sharpshooteryes, it's a bad camera angle. I put the round in the box and could wiggle it forwards and backwards a little. Did I get a picture with the round in the box?

Recoil RobI have been on the list for years. I haven't heard from MRC about a shipping date or payment, I don't even remember what the introductory price was....

Shall I expect an email?
01 February 2009, 06:43
GeoffM24You want to call them, they called me and I paid last March I think it was.
06 February 2009, 09:50
Recoil RobJeff from MRC traded emails with me today and is honoring my order. Turns out the original was misplaced at the time but we're going ahead with it. Now to decide on cartridge.

going deliver the best/biggest non-BMG
action soon to us nuts..Ed

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Can hardly wait for "PH" to get here, it's been about five long years since original order. In this time I've gone back and forth as to which cartridge to build it around. Only in the last year was a chambering settled on and a final call to update the order. It will have been a bit of a wait but well worth it. Rodney.

Recoil RobSo was it the 500 Jeffery?
