I'll take a .40 (.450-400 or .404) on the upper end, and a 9.3 (9,3x74R or 9.3x62) on the lower end. I bought both and am much happier with them than the.458 Win Mag, .416 Rigby, and .375 H&H I used to own. And the guns kill just fine thanks. | |||

bent...in going with the 423-240 line... (also posted on the wildcat thread for continuity) http://www.z-hat.com/Cylinder.htm a way to lengthen the lightest recoil d.g. round...in a recoil calculator in an 8lb gun you are looking at 46 lbs of recoil at 19 fps z-hat has 2.65" cylinder brass...a semi easy wildcat would be to zip off 7 thousandths and leave a belt to have a longer 423-240 wby. bent...this would be cheaper than making custom brass or just use it as a prototype for a longer version. the extra .15" should make it cross the d.g. threshold at lower preasure. you could cut a longer neck to use both lengths like the win mag and lott thing. a straight taper belted 06 basic 2.65" case to a 423 bullet...kinda neet aint it do you think reducing cylinder brass thickness is easier than opening up 240 wby cases??? 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S.
