A friend knows how much I like hunting Africa, and leopards. Sent this on to me. Hadn't seen this one on AR before, and thought it showed the leopard in good still photos.

There is a city park in Mumbai (Bombay) that is about 30 times bigger than New York's central park (ie 40 sq mi) and has 20-30 adult leopards within the park, as well as 200,000 illegal humans!

Looks like the guy in the black shirt should have had his motorcycle helmet on too! A real gun with real bullets might have also been really nice to have.

I know of a poultry farmer from the 1980s near that area who shot 6 leopards over a period of 3 years as they would break into the shed and kill the chicken in the cages. The terrorised birds would panic and and get into so much stress that they would end up with eggs turning inside them and get "egg peritonitis" - he shut down his farm after the last attack. All the leopards were shot inside the chicken sheds.

I wonder if Corbett ever shot killer cats with rubber bullets ?

During my career with the US Forest Service, I spent time twice at the Forest Genetics Institute in Dehra Dun in the Uttar Pradesh of India. I was billeted and worked there, and was warned to NOT take any nightly walks through the extensive grounds, due risks from leopards. I never saw any, but DID have some alarming encounters with bands of monkeys.
