Move yourself over here Shanks, plunk yourself and your loved ones in a major American metro of your choosing, soak up some of the local Pro Hamas anti Israel protests and ask yourself if your new home will be the epicenter of the next Islamic Terrorist attack.

It's coming here, you have to know that even from your far removed position. Extreme Islam in control of the M.E., broad support for the terrorists in the USA, an open southern border,.... you'll stay in New Zealand I have no doubt and I can't get back to Dillingham fast enough.

Scott, your phobias are showing! Smiler Mine too, namely Trump-phobia in my case.

What if -- given full and objective assessment of the known facts and extrapolated to the big picture, Trump is more dangerous to the country, and world, than Islamic Terrorists?

I figure that both Putin and Trump despise Gorbachev, that is if Trump even knows who he was.

I also figure that Putin is grinding his war on in hopes that Trump wins in November, in which case he will give Putin what he wants. Furthermore, Putin will do whatever he can to help Trump win.

Although ancient history, I did a little refresher research after you mentioned Afghanistan and the withdrawal.

Military Officials Say They Urged Biden Against Afghanistan Withdrawal
During a heated Senate hearing, Gen. Mark Milley also defended his actions in the final months of the Trump administration.

(excerpts)

General Milley said he was directed by Mark T. Esper, then the secretary of defense, to call his Chinese counterpart on Oct. 30 because there was “intelligence which caused us to believe the Chinese were worried about an attack on them by the United States.” He added that other senior U.S. officials, including Mike Pompeo, then the secretary of state, were aware of the calls.

“I know, I am certain that President Trump did not intend to attack the Chinese, and it was my directed responsibility by the secretary to convey that intent to the Chinese,” he said. “My task at that time was to de-escalate. My message again was consistent: stay calm, steady and de-escalate. We are not going to attack you.”

======================================

In an unintentionally funny interchange with Senator Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, General Milley acknowledged that he spoke with several authors who have recently written books about the final months of the Trump presidency. All of the books present the general’s actions to keep Mr. Trump in check in a favorable light.

“Woodward yes, Costa no,” General Milley replied, when asked if he had spoken to Mr. Woodward and Mr. Costa for their book.

==========================================

General Milley also addressed a frantic phone call with Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California two days after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. A transcript of the call in the book said the general agreed with Ms. Pelosi’s characterization of Mr. Trump as “crazy.”

Speaking to the Senate panel, General Milley said, “On 8 January, Speaker of the House Pelosi called me to inquire about the president’s ability to launch nuclear weapons. I sought to assure her that nuclear launch is governed by a very specific and deliberate process. She was concerned and made various personal references characterizing the president. I explained to her that the president is the sole nuclear launch authority, and he doesn’t launch them alone, and that I am not qualified to determine the mental health of the president of the United States.”

Later that afternoon, he said, he called the generals involved in that process to “refresh on these procedures.”

Democrats, like Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, asked whether leaving troops in Afghanistan for another year would have made a difference. Both Mr. Austin and Mr. Milley said no.

Here's one entertaining article pertaining:

JULY 5, 2016
The Trump Files: When Donald Couldn’t Tell the Difference Between Gorbachev and an Impersonator (Video)
Duped by a fake Soviet?

When then-Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev visited New York City in 1988, Donald Trump saw an opportunity for an up-close-and-personal encounter with the top Russian. Unfortunately, he got the wrong Gorbachev.

https://youtu.be/vkxxxuWLSac?si=DruwwLzKG6eAh00h

After descending from his office in Trump Tower upon hearing that Gorbachev was outside, Trump shook hands with a man who appeared to be Gorbachev—but wasn’t. Impersonator Ronald Knapp, who had won a Gorbachev look-alike contest, had the pleasure of meeting Trump, who notoriously loathes handshakes.

Trump denied that he fell for the stunt. “He looked fabulous and he sounded fabulous, but I knew it couldn’t be right,” Trump said, according to the Milwaukee Journal. “For one thing, I looked into the back of his limo and saw four very attractive women…I knew that his society had not come that far yet in terms of capitalist decadence.” ( note the Trumpian projection )

But a man accompanying Knapp, Gordon Elliott, assured the New York Times that Trump had been played. “There was absolutely no question that he bought it,” Elliott said. Knapp subsequently wrote a book about his time as a Gorbachev impersonator. The title? The Guy Who Got Trump.

The first of the month we had a rain and thunderstorm. I went and got my 9 yr old nephew, who is always up for an adventure. We went down where my land is pasture/ flood plain, bordered by a river. I have always loved turtles, snakes and such. Something about T storms in june, the turtles are always on the move. We found two wood turtles, scarce in these parts. I have worked with a group who monitors them. Both of these had been found and an ID in the form of little notches filed in the back edge of the shell. Neither had a tracker epoxied to them.
We also found two snappers. One of who I call big red. She is rust colored all over. Her shell, her skin, everything. I have found her 4 of the last six years.
I would hold their beak shut, and had the nephew help pull the leaches out from under their legs, arm pits. Lincoln said he wanted to hold the next one...... I told him when he gets bigger stronger hands!
We talked about how snappers dig a couple false holes, to throw predators off. That they lay their eggs and pee on top after covering them. The pee turns the dirt rock hard, so tougher to dig up.
He asked what they eat, so we went into that. They eat the leeches that also feed on them. minnows, worms, snail and slugs, worms, frogs and crayfish. They like duckweed, grass, algae, moss, and apples.
He thought that was funny. We have wild apple trees everywhere. The apples get washed into stream and rivers and ponds. I showed the turtle biologists a bend in the river where 3 turtles were eating apples.
People think they eat big fish, and ducks and geese. A turtle uses the least amount of energy to get food. Chasing a fish in deep water is a waste when they can lay in the shallows and have a minnow swim by. We put trackers on snappers, and they would swim out into a body of water to bask or change locations, but never seemed to spend time at the bottom of deeper water. If they catch ducks or geese it seemed to be a rarity. We have trouble with geese eating crops that are just coming through the soil, a real problem when you have big numbers. We wish the turtles would eat them.
The nephew and I had a great evening, he calls everytime it rains to go do it again.

It is embarrassing! You know what I find embarrassing? My fellow Americans that have guided us to this place.

I guess I feel more disgusted really. It's been a much larger and more involved process and system than just a few people. The smear campaigns orchestrated by politicians and Press alike or in cahoots. There's been good people insulted and belittled that shouldn't have been, regardless their capacity for the office they sought.

I also think it's inexcusable to pursue political supremacy for fringe elements of our nation. Our representative government should work to benefit all Americans, compromise being obvious. Instead the US has a gay month, "hate" crimes, race based holidays and reparations. All our national attention and priorities seem to be focused on Steve Bannons feelings and personal agenda, the preservation and well being of Hamas, the support for the successful invasion of China across our southern border.
Shoot, I almost forgot, America has to make sure that at any cost Ukraine is free'er and more prosperous than America.

Embarrassing/ disgusting is the way America treats its veterans and homeless.
Embarrassing/ disgusting is the way America manages its highways, canals, levees and bridges.

I'm 100% disgusted with the way America allows cartels and street gangs to take over our neighborhoods and streets with impunity. Of all things,....of all things, organized crime and gangs operate profitably from inside the very United States prisons they are supposedly being punished and corrected within.

Any my entire nation can't come up with two better "Rulers" than Trump and Biden.

I guess, sort of,....

Not dismissing your thoughts and comments, but I believe my concerns are based in history and experience. America has been attacked by Islamic terrorists, clear back to Beirut at the embassy in the 80's and beyond. America was defeated by the Taliban and not only that, but they are now better armed than before we showed up, but also have been taught they can defeat "The Great Satan". You tell me why any and all Islamic terrorists think they shouldn't do that again?

How can they get to our homeland? Chinese nationals have been crossing our southern border illegally by the tens of thousands. https://homeland.house.gov/202...he-southwest-border/

You and me are the only ones that know that?

Yep I understand you. Thankfully we have turned a corner and have a govt thats addressing some of those issues. But.... I look at the still large percentage who vocally stand in our streets and call for intifada, without comprehending what it means. Who want us to stop growing food, to save humanity. Who want us to all drive electric cars but dont want us to have gas power stations, or new hydro, or nuclear.
That rip out parking and trees to make cycleways no one is using. That call for apartheid, but its ok because its a minority to be privileged.
People now see it as a badge of pride to call themselves marxists. Without knowing where that ended up.

It will be a battle for the foreseeable future.

The only predictable one I disagree with you on is Ukraine. Its not about making them wealthy, though I wish the best for them in future. Its about stopping Russia before they decide to invade a NATO member. Right now if they can be reduced to nothing in Ukraine, Not a german, Polish,British Or American soldier needs to die. If Russia isn't stopped there and now. They will eventually be killing soldiers from all those nations and more.

Let's review:

Biden is old and his cognitive abilities apparently come and go.

trump is old and:

1. Is a seditionist.

2. Is a serial liar who is utterly incapable of telling the truth about anything.

3. Is a convicted fraud and felon who currently has additional felony charges pending in various venues around the country.

4. Is a philanderer who cheats on his wife with multiple women, including a porn star who he later paid hush money to in order to enhance his chances of being elected POTUS.

5. Is a general all-around scumbag who doesn't care about anything other than himself.

So, we can talk about who is willfully ignoring facts right before their eyes and continues to support this shitbird or we can talk about how his supporters are morally aligned with him because they don't care about 1-5 above.

In a world of shitty choices, this one is easy for me. trump is a vile human being who poses an existential threat to our democracy. I'll take the doddering old guy every time.

Fact Check: About Biden's Claim that '158 or 159 Presidential Historians' Voted Trump Worst President in US History
Story by Anna Rascouët-Paz • 22h • 3 min read

Claim:

U.S. President Joe Biden accurately claimed in the June 27, 2024, presidential debate with Donald Trump that "158 or 159 presidential historians" had voted Trump the worst president in U.S. history.

Rating:

True (About this rating?)

Context:

The exact number of survey participants was 154, and the group included historians and other social science experts in presidential politics, but they did vote Trump the worst president in U.S. history. Biden was voted 14th greatest, between John Adams and Woodrow Wilson. Barack Obama was seventh and Ronald Reagan was 16th, while Abraham Lincoln snagged the top spot.

During the June 27, 2024, presidential debate on CNN, current U.S. President Joe Biden alleged that former President Donald Trump, his opponent in the debate, had been voted worst president in U.S. history:

https://youtu.be/Ysa-MGQJ9UA?si=dG3w5q8IYwvpxi8W

Biden's exact quote, from the transcript, read as follows:

I wasn't joking. Look it up. Go online. 159 or 58, don't hold me the exact number, presidential historians. They've had meetings and they voted who's the worst president in American history. One through best to worst. They said he was the worst in all of American history. That's a fact. That's not conjecture. He can argue the wrong, but that's what they voted.

Biden's claim is true, though the numbers, as he suggested, were inexact. The survey from the Presidential Greatness Project went out to 525 "social science experts in presidential politics, as well as scholars who had recently published peer-reviewed academic research in key related scholarly journals or academic presses" between Nov. 15 and Dec. 31, 2023. The survey yielded 154 responses, which determined Trump was the worst president in U.S. history — even accounting for the participants' political views.

The participants graded each president on a scale of 0 to 100 with 0 being failure and 100 being great. The scores were then averaged and ranked from highest to lowest. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Abraham Lincoln, who proclaimed the abolition of slavery, came in first. Franklin D. Roosevelt was second and George Washington third. With a score of of 62.66, Biden arrived 14th. Trump ranked 46th — the very last spot — with a score of 10.92:

But there were large differences depending on the partisanship of those who responded to the survey. For example, Trump scored an average 6.97 points out of 100 with liberals, while conservatives gave him more points with 26.76 (still far below the average of 50). Moderates, meanwhile, gave him 14.21 points out of 100.

Trump did arrive first in one of the rankings of the survey: He was by far the most oft-cited in answer to the question, "Who is the most polarizing president?"

The scholars also voted on the most underrated president (Jimmy Carter) and most overrated (John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan narrowly shared that podium).

The survey started in 2015 as the initiative of Brandon Rottinghaus, of the University of Houston, and Justin Vaughn, of Coastal Carolina University. The 2024 poll was its third iteration.

I won't go so far as to say you are wrong, but I'm thinking if ISIS manages to waltz 50k of their kamakazi troops into our nation, (carefully disguised as Mandarin,) that would be a physical threat to our democracy.

So.

Everybody that supports the seditionist, the serial liar, the convicted fraud and felon with multiple other felony cases pending around the country, the guy that fucks other women while his wife is raising his children including the porn star he paid off.

Sound off.

I figured we could both have some fun, and besides my post being on point with the context of this thread, I thought of it as backing you up.

I've had that happen to me - someone posts a zinger following my post that I considered important.

Here's what I do in such case. I go back to edit my post, copy the whole thing (not quote), then delete the original post. Then I start a new post and paste/post the whole thing just copied. That way it shows up after the distraction - no clutter.

Scott, etc., here's a recent article that I consider reliable information:

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/0...PvZ72&smid=url-share

The Southern Border, Terrorism Fears and the Arrests of 8 Tajik Men
The men were arrested after the F.B.I. quietly began an investigation that stretched across the country and involved scores of bureau personnel.

June 25, 2024

(excerpt)

For years, Republicans and conservative media outlets have described the potential dangers posed by terrorists who might slip into the country at the southwestern border along with tens of thousands of Latin American migrants. Those fears, for the most part, have not been realized.

It is still unclear if the men were, in fact, planning a terrorist attack — whether directed by the Islamic State or inspired by the extremist group. But the resources the F.B.I. devoted to the case underscore how seriously the bureau continues to view the threat as a top priority.

The arrests come at a moment of maximum political attention to border security. The issue has emerged as a major source of contention between President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump, who frequently talks about “migrant crime.”

Still, Representative Jim Himes, Democrat of Connecticut and the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, urged that the incident be put in context. He cautioned that the “number of fatal terrorist attacks undertaken by undocumented migrants who crossed our southern border is zero” and that the “number of Americans injured by foreign-born terrorists who entered the country illegally is zero.”

==========================================

Also, when searching for reliable and recent information, I noticed at least two articles from The Heritage Foundation. All I read was the headlines, which had a very much inflammatory tone, to the point, IMO, fear mongering lies.

Who won the debate?

Biden has no business running for president. The debate proved it.

The Democratic Party must think Americans are stupid; they actively lied to democratic voters, swing voters and potential shift voters and the press was instrumental in gaslighting the American citizen, playing the democratic coverup.

No question about it, Biden looked terrible and Trump won the debate.

No - Trump DIDN"T WIN the debate. Unless, like many, he who tells the most lies wins.

There are no dots connecting in my estimations of winning that lies cannot vaporize. Not answering the questions count too. Trump, as always, snuffed the connecting dots that might lead to declaring he won.

Gavin Newsom and the head of DNC both, and others, declared that they would not abandon Biden. They said something like we got your back.

ME winning is not about truth.

It is about perception. It is about the ability to demonstrate control. Control of the topics. Control of one’s self. Control of the moment. Control of the opponent.

The truth is the least important matter.

President Biden can have the truth as long as Trump has the perception of control, Trump wins.

Trump is not the issue. Trump is the figure head of a political movement that seeks its version of religious control on civil government, isolation, and the ability of states to discriminate against undesirables deemed by the local majority. The goal is to relitigate and overturn every loss since 1937. That large business and banks be permitted to dominate policy.

The returning of minorities, including women, to a secondary status w no federal protection.

If stopping that is most important, President Biden must step aside. Frankly, it probably too late.

Okay, I realize my "perception" is bias.

It's as close to fact as possible that for practically ALL Trump supporters he has the ability to demonstrate, or at least cause the perception of control.

It's disturbing for several reasons but mostly because it's an act, a reality show crisis actor, a front man, bolstering his act with bluster, lies, nonsense.

Let's not get all doomy about this.

The Dems will figure it out.

Oh, now we're talking about libbie fashion.

I once saw a picture on some media of a libbie guy wearing bright red lipstick and a scarf. It's could have been fake. I have no idea what he was wearing, if anything, below the neck. They left that up to the imagination.

But I haven't yet figured how that has any relevance to anything important.

With your expertise, jeffe, I'm sure you can explain. Wink

That is ridiculous, Trump does not have dementia.

Trump is a lying, cheating, philandering, fraud who has been impeached multiple times, bankrupt multiple times, cheated on everyone of his 3 wives and tried to steal the last election, but he knows exactly what he is doing. He is just devoid of a moral compass.

Happy to help you in your quest to "dump Trump" Jeffe Wink Teamwork, it's what made America great.
