I’m referring to America’s billionaires, such as Elon Musk and the 13 other billionaires Trump has installed in his regime, as well as the 744 other billionaires in America, and the 9,850 Americans with at least $100 million in net worth. Together, these individuals have a huge storehouse of wealth. Many are willing to trade some of it to gain even more, and to tie down what they have more securely. They give Trump (and his family) business deals, information, campaign money, and positive PR (propaganda). In return, he gives them tax cuts, regulatory rollbacks, and suspensions of antitrust. I’m also referring to oligarchs in Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia. He gives them special trade deals, energy deals, intelligence deals, access to global deposits of riches; or he threatens to hold them back. In return, they give him (and his family) business deals, information, support in political campaigns, and more covert propaganda. While Trump is certainly a Republican issue, remind me again… Don’t we have an election? Didn’t the democrats think they had the best candidate immaculated to defeat him? You can claim Trump lies. It’s out there and everyone can see what he is like. Every Republican here will admit that Trump does things they don’t agree with, so it’s not Trump pulling the wool over every one’s eyes. It’s that the policies and direction the democrats were espousing was enough that the majority of the people who voted went for the other guy. I essentially sat out this election because I didn’t like DJT - mainly his style and flaws are repugnant. But while Harris and Walz personal styles and habits are not as obnoxious as Trump’s, their policies were every bit as toxic to me. You lefties seem to have a problem. You can’t admit that most of the populace doesn’t care for the extremes the democrats carry their agenda, and are unwilling to moderate it. The democrats and republicans both tend to behave in lockstep with their party. I do see more republicans willing to disagree with individual issues than democrats. Well, he's not just a liar, he's a BIG LIAR. The election was close. IMO, it's logical and "normal" that elections should be swayed mostly by ideology and associated policy. There is a lot of undercurrents there. However, certainly even you know and understand that this past election had the influence of Trump's lies overshadowing it. The amount of propaganda and spin/sway narratives GOPers magaphoned from Trump's lies into persuasive narratives IMO is unprecedented. That also includes Fox News propaganda, and Newsmax, etc. The lawfare narrative lie being the top, among others. It was a constant stream and carries on today. So, I think you are dreaming, and in denial of the reality that this past election was carried and won by lies and belief thereof. Do you think Trump's retribution is policy? ME, everyone knows politicians lie. Trump’s lies are so obvious that if you can’t see them, you are blind. Harris was lying every bit as often as Trump, but certainly not to the degree of hyperbole that Trump did. I don’t think many voters brought in to Trump’s “facts” but rather knew that Biden/Harris were offering more of the same and wanted out. With how Trump is doing things now, the democrats only need to select a candidate that is mostly middle of the road and the Dems will have a landslide. However, if they keep on pushing a small subgroup’s agenda, it’s liable to be close, with the Dems coming out on top due to too many sacred cows being gored by Trump and co. That DOGE can find as much trouble this fast makes me wonder what all these IG watchdogs have been doing for the last 30 years. I do think that the methods Musk and Trump are using is very concerning, but I’m also willing to admit that what we were doing allowed the waste to accumulate unchecked. Over $100 B missing from Ukraine aid? Yet some here were defending giving this without any oversight over the current situation. Trump booting folks over their political decision in apolitical positions has some support, but face it, there will be a corresponding bloodbath of Trump’s friends when the Dems get in again.
