The real pressing question is why city and/or county council didn't have an adequate warning system. Here in SC we have sirens and cell alerts. Also, why didn't the camp officials monitor conditions and heed initial alerts posted 12 hrs. prior?

I'm sure that the cutbacks helped improve the chances of predicting the event and maybe saving some lives. Right? I mean less weather forecasters is better. Unless hundreds of people die in a weather event.
