I've been skeptical though. I can see potential to get way off in la la land led by AI. This is an emerging problem we should be aware of. It's just another challenge layer, IMO, to sort things out. But I have been reminded lately by my far-right cousin that he doesn't trust any source. There are many people like that. Being skeptical is healthy. When you add to that the deliberate distortion and misrepresentation of facts to promote partisan ideology, it's easy to understand why people may have trouble believing anything they see. For myself, once I have seen bullshit from any given source, I mistrust that source from then on. So it is that I mistrust anything Caroline Leavitt says or anything Rachel Maddow says. Both have shown themselves willing to lie by omission, by distortion or by flat out stating a lie. Their politics make them incapable of simply stating the facts. I’ve had several YouTube shorts on my “ suggested for you” list which appear to show otherwise rational adults who honestly believe that abortion law in California makes it legal to kill a baby after (7 days after) birth. There are people out there who will believe pretty much anything. As well as requiring an ID there should be an IQ test for anyone to be able to vote. | |||

Answering your questions in order: No, Nute's post is not a deflection. The deflection is your posts. Maddow was not lying. You don't know what a real lie is. Calling it "clot shot" says everything needed to know about where you are coming from. I caught the covid, and had to go to Canada to catch it traveling the Alcan. I had the shots and the boosters, and had to prove it, otherwise the Canadian border guards wouldn't let me cross. It was a miserable experience because I had to suffer with it until I arrive at my destination. I'm sure I spread it even though I wore a mask. I traveled by ferry and stopped over to visit the DMV in Juneau. I figure that because I got the vaccines the symptoms were tolerable. When I arrived at my destination, I promptly visited the local clinic. I told them what I suspected by cell phone. They made me wait outside in the bus. They took a swab and confirmed. They gave me Paxlovid and the symptoms went away in two days or less. I camped in the bus. My buddies brought me food, but wouldn't let me in the dining shack to join them for a week. Right now the nursing home where my brother resides has a warning on the front door, to wear a mask. Make what you want from all that, but this is answering a diversion from the OP theme and point.
