Officials have said the suspect was not on any security watch lists and there were no heightened security threats before the shooting. The firearm believed to be used in the killings was retrieved as well, officials said.

The FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino, said the suspect was interviewed by authorities within hours of being taken into custody. Officials were aware of “certain writings” possibly authored by the suspect that have been circulated online, he wrote in a post on X, adding: “We hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon.”

I guess they were too busy deporting those 2 year olds with cancer to focus on this guy.

The indisputable facts of this incident are terrible enough without speculations.

Today, when visiting my brother in a nursing home, my sister was there too and had C-span on with their report of the incident from various perspectives. I couldn't hear what was being said on TV, only the pictures.

She commented that C-span is less controversial than Fox, a nod to me and previous conversations. And then she said that she was "pleasantly surprised" that the liberal politicians were speaking out against the killings.

That pissed me off. I said "what do you expect from liberals?"

I don't remember her response, but it spiraled from there. I won't bother you with details.

IMO, she is a true representative of the Christian Far Right. I'm appalled that she would think liberals would justify this incident.

What's wrong with these people?

It is highly doubtful the shooter could have done what he did at the Embassy.

The perception doesn't change just because it's wrong and inaccurate. The republican party has been taken over by a far right radicalized bunch who used to be the fringe and got louder over the years with their lies and hate rhetoric. It was always like a thunderstorm on the horizon. But the front is moving through now.

It's an odd thing to me to be informed of all the stuff you mentioned above, stated as factual. I thought I was being diligent at being informed. I figure that I missed all that because I avoid Fox News.

I was aware that Libs were bummed about the assignation attempt for two reasons. First because it was criminal and sick, second because it got Trump votes and was used by Fox.

The point is that in my core opinion of opinions, that shit isn't representative of liberals. It's a made up narrative to justify radicalization. How can liberals correct made up and projected shit about them, when lies count more that truth?

Okay, I took another look and agree - don't shoot the messenger and there is SOME truth there.

The way the post is worded goes beyond "how the bulk of the country views liberals". The word "bulk" is an opinion. Then the rest of the post is worded so that the "messenger" is not speaking for the Bulk, but for himself, his views.

I don't believe the "bulk" shares that opinion of liberals, mostly because liberals themselves don't think of the party that way. Tomahhawker is looking from the outside in and skewed it. Yes, the party harbors people fitting his descriptions, but they are fringe. Republicans have fringe too, some of which are RINOs.

The last sentence really caps the personal opinion aspect of the post: "Until Dems re embrace America and Americans that how it will go."

Dems ARE American, and embrace America. Saying otherwise is a product of believing too much propaganda.

Regarding his points:

AOC and Bernie, etc. are loud but their influence is not dominate, like the loud and malevolent bunch on the Right who want to use the far left influencers as boogie.

I think saying Libs were bummed because the assassination attempt was not successful is really bad skew. No respectable liberal would wish that and especially wouldn't say it. For one thing, the last thing Liberals would want is for Trump to become a victim not of his own making. They don't want him to become a martyr. And they don't want Vance to be POTUS.

However, if Trump somehow farted himself, resulting in transition from Dear Leader to Dearly Departed, IMO most Liberals would happily call him the Farter Martyr or the Founding Farter of Trumpism.

And Tomaknocker also missed a point. IMO, many if not most RIMOs think most Libs are stoking welfare and other social safety net stuff, not working, while driving a Cadillac.
