Killed a couple of people at the embassy, & they knew about him.

Officials have said the suspect was not on any security watch lists and there were no heightened security threats before the shooting. The firearm believed to be used in the killings was retrieved as well, officials said.

The FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino, said the suspect was interviewed by authorities within hours of being taken into custody. Officials were aware of “certain writings” possibly authored by the suspect that have been circulated online, he wrote in a post on X, adding: “We hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon.”

I guess they were too busy deporting those 2 year olds with cancer to focus on this guy.

The indisputable facts of this incident are terrible enough without speculations.

Today, when visiting my brother in a nursing home, my sister was there too and had C-span on with their report of the incident from various perspectives. I couldn't hear what was being said on TV, only the pictures.

She commented that C-span is less controversial than Fox, a nod to me and previous conversations. And then she said that she was "pleasantly surprised" that the liberal politicians were speaking out against the killings.

That pissed me off. I said "what do you expect from liberals?"

I don't remember her response, but it spiraled from there. I won't bother you with details.

IMO, she is a true representative of the Christian Far Right. I'm appalled that she would think liberals would justify this incident.

What's wrong with these people?

They were shot while leaving the Capital Jewish Museum which is open to the general public.

It is highly doubtful the shooter could have done what he did at the Embassy.

The perception doesn't change just because it's wrong and inaccurate. The republican party has been taken over by a far right radicalized bunch who used to be the fringe and got louder over the years with their lies and hate rhetoric. It was always like a thunderstorm on the horizon. But the front is moving through now.

It's an odd thing to me to be informed of all the stuff you mentioned above, stated as factual. I thought I was being diligent at being informed. I figure that I missed all that because I avoid Fox News.

I was aware that Libs were bummed about the assignation attempt for two reasons. First because it was criminal and sick, second because it got Trump votes and was used by Fox.

The ETC. part is just more radicalized hype.

The point is that in my core opinion of opinions, that shit isn't representative of liberals. It's a made up narrative to justify radicalization. How can liberals correct made up and projected shit about them, when lies count more that truth?

Not the point. Why wasn't this guy, who they were aware of even on their watch list? Seems more important than deporting off legal foreign students or small children

Antisemitism is rather confusing to me now. 85 years ago, it was right wing nazis who were targeting jews for extermination. That was wrong and I think everyone can agree with that. But maybe not?

Now, it is the left that supports people who want to exterminate or persecute jews. Look at Harvard University. Look at the Democrats supporting protesters against Jews and Israel. These aren't peaceful protesters obviously as borne out by recent events.
