It's the same reason that Arizona also voted for recreational weed. People can split a ticket philosophically.

Myself, I am pro-life, ONLY when the question is framed around trimester limits. I believe America could (most) agree to an abortion limit of 12-15 weeks. BUT...a 40 week abortion or states that have no limit, well, deal breaker.
