I guess God did not care nor live the poor guy setting behind him that was murdered.

I hate this stuff.

One line that screamed out to me, “ Until we get control of the government.”

If God cared he would come down here and run.

What's the difference between a Deist and a Theist?

Rationalizations.

Trump doesn't care if there is a difference.

The Founders did.

Perhaps our Lord has a sense of humor, and rigged the election...

I idly wonder if the Republicans had their own cheats in place for 2020, and felt that only a bigger set of cheats could win.

Not admissible evidence...

Maybe the SS might even have had a hand in it; nothing to be discounted as in: "if all else fails, go to Plan B" but since they did him in and dead "kids" can't talk we will never know. Wink

I guess you believe God waved his hand and directed that bullet to the Corey Comperatore, so President Trump could win an election.

God had nothing to do with it. A man made a decision to kill another human. He did not shoot well enough to kill his intended and killed another instead.

Interesting!!!

So, it's a question with two contradictory answers.
One - God intervened.
Two - God didn't intervene.

If God intervened, he had choices. He could have helped the SS find a better shooter, or another way not involving a shooter. He could have deflected the bullet with no collateral deaths or damage. There were so many ways he could have made this "cleaner". He could have found a better candidate, not a fake Christian.

What's the probability, based on evidence, that there was intervention?

As far as I know, there has never been and never will be evidence, especially concrete, of Divine Intervention, except maybe the BIG BANG and that's questionable.

Also, in my opinion there is no worse lawyer than one who is not agnostic insofar as truth associated with evidence. Being unable to sort that out at any level, spiritually and worldly, is trouble.

I question how you could have missed such distinction about truth and reality in law school. You are testimony to the power of belief in at least two instances, and I would infer all ways.

Gabriel, Divine Intervention, Satan, all cannot be proven nor disproved.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnosticism

The English biologist Thomas Henry Huxley said that he originally coined the word agnostic in 1869 "to denote people who, like [himself], confess themselves to be hopelessly ignorant concerning a variety of matters [including the matter of God's existence], about which metaphysicians and theologians, both orthodox and heterodox, dogmatise with the utmost confidence."

[The agnostic] principle may be stated in various ways, but they all amount to this: that it is wrong for a man to say that he is certain of the objective truth of any proposition unless he can produce evidence which logically justifies that certainty. This is what Agnosticism asserts; and, in my opinion, it is all that is essential to Agnosticism.[13]

As you already know, IMO the breakdown is tied to several factors, all associated, namely the belief in fiction, lies, which is utterly contrary to the Founder's principles, and their deist POV creation of a secular constitution, and the rule of law thus derived, which is agnostic, utterly dependent on evidence. When belief, religion, dogma, lies, whatever distinguishable from proof, is thrown into the mix --- well, here we are.

So, you do believe God moved the bullet from Trump to Corey Comperatore, so President Trump could win an election.

God had nothing to do with it. The assassin mused his intended. Corey Comperatore payed for the miss w his life.

Your position is not supported by scripture. It is moronic.

God loved Corey Comperatore as much as Trump. God did not permit Trump to live at the expense of Comperatore living.

And these True Believers claim that secularism and/or agnosticism and liberalism are the root breakdown of culture, society, country, law, politics, virtue, morals, etc., when they were all integral in the Founding and the principles.

Go figure.

That's how we, the nation, transformed from Enlightenment to Degeneracy. And they think more of that is gonna fix it.

Apparently you don’t believe or trust in God. I was trying to stay out this but I will just say God has a plan and God’s Will will be done. Death is not a bad thing as long as you are Saved. Eternity is much longer than 75 years. Quit projecting your man made qualities onto God and quit professing your Christianity if you don’t believe God has a plan.

I think the whole concept of "Trust in God" and his will and plans are man-made projection.

That's why the Founders chose to make the constitution secular, which is not such projection, and does not presume intervention.

The Declaration of Independence is not the foundation of the Rule of Law. The Constitution is that, and it is secular.

In reading the Declaration I prefer the back story, and other details, such as here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...ngrossed_declaration

Noted: the use of "creator", "Nature's God" and "Laws of Nature", "all men are created equal"

Nature's law:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_law

There is much debate about deist influence on the Constitution:

https://www.britannica.com/top...Christianity-1272214

The Founding Fathers, Deism, and Christianity

However, the profound evidence that the Founders made the constitution secular means that deism of the Enlightenment era is the basis of the rule of law in the US. That's originalism.

It is reasonable to presume that the Founders deemed it necessary to completely forgo the Christian concept/belief of intervention in the founding document of the rule of law. That is what separation of church and state is all about.

One could argue that the Founders didn't reject the belief of intervention altogether, but chose to not embed it in the constitution, for a reason. That reason, arguably, is they knew the pitfalls.

I am certain I've heard Christian ministers preach that Satan has dominion of the earth--until Christ returns.

If the earth is Satan's, then it's more likely he moved the bullet in flight than that God did it.

But according to what I was taught, there is such a thing as free will, which is very important to Christianity. The gunman fired the shot by his own free will.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genius

Let them have dominion. This included,” Over all the earth.” Them is clearly man.

Right after, it reiterates that God made man and woman.

There is a whole lot of discussion over who specifically “them” are.

There is even more over who Hod is talking to. Most churches I have been in reach God is speaking to Jesus. Thus, establishing the divinity of Jesus.

Satan means adversary.

Now, any clock maker who makes a clock, can decide to get up and move the hands on the click as he wishes. The folly is thinking because he can, he must. Or, that God would move this dispensation of time to save Trump and kill another for just sitting there.

It's not the only contradiction in Christian doctrine.

What about when Satan offers the earth to Jesus? How could he make that offer if the earth wasn't his to dispose of?

Satan showed Jesus, “All the kingdoms of the world and their glory…All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

Is it a contradiction?

Well, Satan is shown in our Bible to be a deceiver, a lier. Satan deceives Eve. Do we know these Kingdoms were Satan’s to give?

I always found it an exercise in futility. It being the temptations. Especially, this earthly Kingdom Temptation. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He and the Father are One. Jesus says nothing is withheld to him by God, and nothing of Jesus is withheld from us. Jesus has the power over death. The Earthly Kingdom was his if he wanted it. It was not his charge nor purpose. Jesus fully vested as God, bring tempted w Earthly Kingdoms is like tempting a man w a rare prime, porterhouse w a gas station hotdog.

Jesus quickly brushes this temptation away. He says nothing of the offer. Only, Jesus replies,” Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”

Funny, upon being commanded to leave Satan leaves.

Now, I have used the KJV for this discussion. It is what I believe is our best radio transmission to English.

However, if I were in seminary using the KJV for this debate, I would be hit for not using better source material.

Obviously, in Job Satan is permitted to do all kinds of things to Job. Job is basically a bar bet between God and Satan. The key is permitted by God to do those things.

Satan's lack of title to all the nations of the earth wasn't raised as a defense or objection by Jesus.

Instead, Jesus rejects the worship of Satan because only God is entitled to worship.

Nope, but Jesus was not concerned w the Kingdoms. His rebuke is direct at the worship request.

Jesus left Heaven. Jesus has full power of his Father. He was not hear to make an earthly kingdom. He was here to bring humanity back to God.
