Did anyone here not condemn the acts on 1/6?

As I recall, the biggest difference was what it actually was.

I condemned it as a riot.

I don't buy in that it was an insurrection, but that is a matter of degree.

And I don't disagree that there were some who hoped for more on 1/6 and are currently serving rather long terms.

Then there are those who justified the rioting in Minneapolis and elsewhere as being deserved and reasonable and that most of the people involved were just "peaceably protesting"

Both sides are engaged in the type of behavior that causes what we are seeing in the body politic.

Trump Just Created One of the Most Iconic Photos in U.S. History
Opinion by Nico Hines • 1h • 2 min read

(excerpt)

His fist-raised salute of defiance is surely enough to win him re-election to the White House. Especially if the American people have to choose between a doddering incumbent and the man who got to his feet seconds after an assassination attempt and punched the air with blood trickling down his face.

A campaign poster to be reckoned with. If Trump is holed up without a speechwriter and doesn't mess up, he may win re-election by supper time today.

News has it that the rifle was an AR-15 sort of rig, this will play wonderfully into the Biden/Harris gun control story. Nutz...

What, MAGAts are going to vote harder for him? Press down more on the pencil or push the button more emphatically?

Nobody who didn't think he was fit to be President Friday, which is a majority of the American People, have suddenly decided they were wrong.

I do not want him for president, nor am I enthused about any of the alternatives we've been handed.

That said, the man had just been hit by a poorly-aimed bullet, and had his fist in the air in defiance. Man-to-man, that appeared to be spirit without guile, and only a deadened soul would let that pass without acknowledgment.

Why are you giving Harris a pass? She spearheaded donations for bail for the BLM and Antifa rioters?

So is she fit to be President? How about Schumer?
How about any of the others that preach violence?

With this shooting and all the previous attempts at his political and financial life, THEY, not me, have given Trump Demigod status in many Americans eyes. (not mine)

A vote for anyone other that Trump, is allowing status quo or voting for more of the same. Search your soul.

The SS would have the call the shooter was down seconds after the shot that hit Trump.
But jeffi knows more about what was going on from his easy chair.

Biden made that comment about the "bullseye" on Trump and let's not forget Pelosi's remark about "quivers in her arrow" comment. And we are supposed to believe that the same FBI that raided Trump's home under Biden's orders are NOW going to protect him and find out who was behind this ..hell we're still waiting to find out who's drugs were found in the WH .

They played the SS talking during the shooting.
They said outloud, "shooter is down, lets move. That was when they let Trump up from the pile and they moved him.
But jeffi in his livingroom called Trump out for standing up. What new wisdom do you have for us now??

So Trump doesn't stand up in defiance in the face of death, but is pulled to his feet by the Secret Service and marched off the stage.

And making a fist like a girl makes him a hero?

It's a long time until the election.

Even if that is what injured him, that doesn’t change the fact that someone tried to assassinate him.

I suppose this - the assassination of Trump - is about all that the Democrats have left in their quiver.
Nobody should be surprised that this has happened.

Also, I’ve spent the last few months intentionally not participating in the ARPF and I’m better for it.
You all should give it a try.

The idea that Trump was hit by something other than a bullet, probably comes from the statement by the man himself. He said he heard a whizzing sound just before he was struck. Super-sonic bullets don't make a whizzing sound. I think it is highly unlikely that the gunman is part of any real conspiracy because he was such a useless specimen, nobody would have entrusted any sort of role to him.
I like to have all the information I can. So far, there is precious little. The longer it goes on, the less likely it is that the info will be real and not spun.
So far, we have info that the shooter did indeed fire at the stage, most likely intending to hit Trump himself. We know that one person was killed in the stands, and couple more injured. We know the shooter was killed. I have not heard yet just what type of rifle was in the shooter's possession, nor the type of ammunition. Plainly, this was known within minutes but is being withheld.
I am sure there are victims of professional assassins which take place, but I can't recall when any high profile person was a victim of such an attack. The possible exception might have been Lee Harvey Oswald but that seems unlikely as well. Regards, Bill.

There are far more professional assassins in the movies than there are in the real world, and the best do their job without anybody being sure a job was done.

And sure as hell no professional would take a job there was scant chance they would survive, like shooting a Secret Service protectee in broad daylight.

I don't know what this goofball was, apparently he used his Father's rifle, but he sure as hell was no professional anything.

Well…he was able to outwit this administration’s SS. He almost accomplished his total mission as well. A testament to how incompetent the SS has become in the last 4 years I guess. Or, how little this administration cares about the safety of President Trump.

The list of failures in security will be long, starting with how did this doofus find an elevated position overlooking the stage from 140 yards that didn't have at least two cops parked there?

How did a cop alerted to his presence climb a ladder, doofus points his rifle at him and the cop neither kills him nor broadcasts an emergency alert?

I will note that protectees have considerable input on security arrangements and requests for an increase, of any kind, are never refused.

Trump famously didn't want metal detectors at his Jan 6 rally because "they won't hurt ME".

There is always a tension between a SS detail and a campaign, and it's always, ALWAYS, the campaign pushing back against what the detail wants to implement.

Now I'm hearing that since the building the doofus shot from was outside the Secret Service "perimeter" (how any building overlooking where a protectee will be in a static position can ever be outside is a mystery to me), it was not the Secret Service's responsibility, but the State Police.

The State Police are claiming that since Pennsylvania is an "open carry" State they couldn't do anything until something illegal happened.

And I have tried, for the last time, to address you with some modicum of respect. That "moron" puts paid to that effort.

Apparently there have been several requests by the Trump campaign for additional USSS protection over the last several months and the Director of the USSS has denied them all.

A former President does not get the same level of USSS protection that the Prez or the VP gets. It’s all about doing what you can with the people you have.

I am going to bet you now the counter snipers had him in their scopes and were trying to get a green light to shoot. Once the scumbag shot they no longer had to wait.

So, from what I've read so far, he was not the wacko left wing political assassin the right wing was hoping for. Just another gun nut, with the emphasis on nut, who never should have had access to a gun nor opportunity for his dirty deed. Must be really disappointing to our resident cultists, who've spent this entire topic spinning a different take than what they had hoped for, and concentrating on insulting other members. Seems to be the pattern lately.

Wasn't there a spicy tale about some WH staffer woman by the name of Tara Reade and several others with claims of alleged assault by horny Joe or was that the press looking for the usual scoop?

There haven't been many photos or clips in recent times catching Joe fondling children either; maybe someone whispered words of restraint.

According to Democrats and TDS’rs it’s in the thousands of women. The worst case was forcing wealthy Russian women studying liberal arts to pee on him.

I don't think he forced the Russian woman, likely just paid her like he did with Stormy. Wink

Is that your best shot?

No one in this world is perfect and your precious, infallible Joe Biden is one of them.

How about a protective comment regarding the children he has so much affection for?

The Democrats will say anything that might serve their purpose but were they present when what they claim actually happened or are they spouting their Democratic shit as usual?

Biden is far, far from perfect.

When it comes to perfection we have the Orange Jesus an an example of divinity on earth. What more could a sheep ask for?

I think I'll refrain from commenting on the obsession by the right with pedos. Too bizarre for me thanks.

Pizzagate anyone? Q??Q??
