This might be popular but I'm tired of the attacks from mindless liberals so like barking dogs on a leopard, they have me up a tree. I can't kill them all, so they will eventually kill me. This needs needs to end. Saeed, can you kill the Political forum?

If not, I'd just urge anyone with a brain to boycott it and leave it to Mike Mitchell, Jeffive and wymple.

Before all the liberals start screaming, that was hyperbole and I realize they are not literally trying to kill me nor I them, just making a comparison. They do seem like barking dogs, however.

You want something eliminated because it offends your personal position?

How about “don’t let the screen door hit you on the ass” and let others engage in whatever discourse they choose?

I’m assuming you’re one of those Americans constantly braying about your ‘Freedom and Liberty’, are you not? How about according some of that to others?

The door is right over there.

Why hang out here if you don't like it?

You don't have a good attitude. You just show up and post unsupported conclusory opinions, and wonder why most don't agree?

When you do post something of substance, and someone makes a serious reply, you ignore it. You made a serious post about the superiority of VAT over income tax, and when I pointed out your dubious assumptions and opinions, you never replied.

It looks to me that the forum won't be losing much if you boycott us.

As far as I know, we are among the very few, if any, hunting and shooting sites that allows free speech!

You don’t like this forum, no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing to even look at it, let alone participate.

And as an added benefit, it provides entertainment for some us!

Lays bare the glory of politics.

Especially American politics!

And the incredible democracy you all participate in.

Going as far as to invade and destroy countries all over the world so you can give them your form of democracy!

I LOVE the political forum!

Het lefties and commies, don’t stop hammering at the MAGA arseholes!

We NEED a great Bimbo to rule America!

I never listen to any politician talk.

But I understand she is great at providing word salad!

Whatever that means! jumping

Think about this for a moment. Would you want these discussions dispersed among the other topics on the web site?

I visit AR just about every day, but I rarely go to the Political forum.

AR is a great hunting and shooting Forum, but the majority of the posters on the Political forum constantly praise and support the American political party that hates and wants to do away with our right to own guns, and they constantly bash our political party that supports our right to own guns.

This forum is great. As long as you dont take everything too seriously.
As long as you realise you wont change anyones opinion, but you might make them have to find new justifications every once in a while.

Though I do think Im starting to change Saeeds views on Monarchy a bit.

From my unasked perspective, It isn't our political position you're attacking.

It is personal. You seem to wish to destroy a person who simply see's things through a different prism. (you in the collective)

Example - I saw someone in here call Dogcat a cunt. Ross is one of the most respected member of this forum. there is no room for that kind of insult. Regardless of anyones position.

Most in here simply desire a far left, progressive echo chamber.

I came looking for "robust debate" But was met with such acidic remarks, I just decided to not participate, which is our option.

I don't wan't to see it shut down either. It reminds me if what the other side thinks.

Absolutely. Saeed seems to understand more about free speech than most of the right wingers, like lavaca. As far as having a left wing bent, it used to be the exact opposite. Funny how that works, some intelligent people knocking down the stupid so they leave, then the leftovers like lavaca whine they are in the minority. Truth is, they are in the minority because they went off the deep end, like Lane, and now just double down on it supporting absolute pieces of shit like trump no matter what he says or does.

It is kind of interesting how things have changed here.

When I started occasionally posting in the PF, the general tone was quite conservative and there were a few conservative voices who were somewhat impolite and engaged in personal insults as a matter of course.

Those folks were disciplined and often banned. This seemed to correlate with when Walter (RIP) became the main PF moderator.

Since that time, the lefties by and large have become the instigators of personal attacks and bad behavior. Certainly not all of them are, and most of those who do are not always doing it, but it does happen more on the left. It also is true that some folks on the right do it as well, but the majority is from the left, and unless I miss my guess, most of the US types here are more conservative than not, but most refuse to participate, which is probably due to the general tone in the crater here.

Notice that there is a lot less conservative side posting than in the past. I think it has to do with folks not enjoying the insults and remembering that when their side played the same tactics they got banned.

I don’t like being called stupid any more than the next guy, but it’s the way that it is here. I try to not respond in kind, and thank god I’m not an admin type.

Saeed has the patience of a saint given the number of insults hurled his way. I got to say I prefer his hands off method and responses with humorous insults back.

Most of us would not be making the type of name calling comments in person, that’s for sure.

Go look at Lavaca’s recent post. He has left reality. Now, instead of debating his nonsense he wants the venue shutdown.

The new GOP control has done more to run off people than folks on the Left.

I am Republican. I am not this nor what it has been.

Well, I know more than a few Republicans and we talk daily.

We are in our late 30s and try to come up w solutions.

Also, I never saw GOP support election denial and outright attacks on our constitutional system as what I have seen now.

President Theadore Rosevelt was right to put the best in big banks and bankers then, as well as, creating the modern Administrative system.

As I've repeatedly stated, My vote for Trump is simply a blocking move to keep Harris out.

And if Trump was actually guilty of sedition, don't you agree that this highly weaponized DOJ would have charged him with such?

I really don't care about the rationale you've invented for voting for a seditionist. Let's face it, you would vote for trump if Jesus Christ was the Democratic candidate. It's almost impossible to believe that anybody would take that position but here we are....

I don't agree that the DOJ is highly weaponized. If it were, he would have already been indicted....right?

I will be the first to say that being a seditionist and being proved a seditionist in a court of law is two entirely different things. Personally, I don't have any doubt that a jury would convict trump, but who knows and what good would it do? A prosecution of trump would simply ramp things up even further. That said, if Harris is elected, trump might want to have a big retainer fee ready for some criminal lawyers. But, I doubt it ever happens.

One side does not have monopoly on insulting others. You obviously weren't logging on when some on the right were making insulting remarks about Obama's wife. Or for that matter calling a poster on here similar names to that which offended you.

This is, at the end of the day, an Internet forum. Nothing anyone says here is going to change anyones views or affect the real world. Take it all with a shovel full of salt.

I never cease to be amazed at how some of the PF conservatives post in a way that is reflective of FOX News and trump's statements. All of this "shut down the forum talk" is about trump whining that he's getting shot at because people talk bad about him. So, nobody should be allowed to talk bad about him or hurt anybody else's feelings. What nonsense.

Doc,
totally agree - I don't recall a rightie calling me every name in the book, while there's a couple lefies that are somewhat freer with cursing a person out. Oh, I am not above the fray of insults (understatement) however, I don't swear in forums, and frankly, don't say a WORD here that I wouldn't say in a face to face situation, under the same conditions.

It's strange, I've even invited those screaming curse words like a 14 year old having just learned them, for a face to face. The ones that have agreed, we've had a civil, if strained, conversation, where we spoke and listened to each other - then there are the folks that think they can say anything they want from behind a keyboard - In no event do I think we changed each others minds -

but never have they decided to use those cursing behaviors in a face to face situation.

The way I look at it. Expletives are a tool in the vocabulary to get a point across. They should be used appropriately just like any other word.

What I dont understand is the F---K or Effing etc. Someone wants to use the word but misses some letters to somehow avoid the offence of seeing another two, or using a different spelling?

It hints at lack of character too me. Either use them or dont.

Mike, it's "your" side that says words are violence -

trump and Vance have repeatedly insinuated over the past few days that the Democrats and the media are responsible for the attempts on trump's life because of Dem/Media criticisms of trump.

That's total horseshit and you know it.

Please take a look at how trump characterizes folks before throwing stones.

strange, to the left, trumps words caused a riot in the capitol, but left words, and let's recall, the left things words are weapons, disavows their own words -- calling him a threat, and enemy of the state, blah blah ...

dude, can we agree on using the same yardstick?

With, of course, the difference being that trump spoke directly to the crowd that promptly went down and invaded the Capital a few minutes later.

Little bit different bud. We'll set aside lies versus the truth for now but we can get into that too.
