The lawsuit was so so merit that Paxton was sanctioned by the Bar, had to apologize, and the Court accepted a 6 million dollar settlement signed off by the AG’s Office. The legislature’s action will not stop a motion to enforce settlement, not erase the malfeasance. You guys are not serious people.

Let us assume that he Courts will not use their power to enforce. Or let us assume they try and eventually a Fed appellate courts rules that an order directing and eventual show cause/contempt is deemed a violation of Separation of Powers. I have seen executive branch dnd legislative branch officials show caused for less. None of they erases Paxton’s malfeasance in this matter. None is the Far Right can get around that: A( Paxton had to apologize for trying his power to inappropriately punish civil servants who were targeted inappropriately by the State of Texas’ Chief Law Enforcement Officer. Those folks only engaged in legal means to hold the powerful accountable. B) Paxton was required that he apologize for his behavior as AG. C) Paxton’s behavior merited ethics retraining. And D) Paxton’s behavior resulted in a settlement of 3.5 million dollars. Those facts cannot be erased. If a Dem AG had these issues of fitness, the far righties here would be screaming at the suggestion. The defining characteristic is the action, the behavior. It is not the letter.

Lawyers have to pass and test before the Bar Professional Responsibility. If you do not receive a qualifying score you cannot set for the Bar. These codification of professional ethics must be followed by the attorney. Violation leads to sanction by the State Supreme Court through the bar. Re-training on ethics is a sanction for violating these codes. Paxton had to undergo this training as a sanction for violating is professional, codified ethics. Prosecutors have an entire separate, additional code of conduct. He engaged in malfeasance of these codifications. His penance, in part, was retraining in ethics. Ted, Dr. Easter he violated his professional codified rules of conduct. Part of his sanction was re-training ethics. It probably was a ways of time, but he violated his codified professional responsibility to his profession, the state, and those he wronged. The penalty, in sort, was to retake ethical training. Assuming, you are correct and Paxton learned nothing, that is all the more reason he should not be an AG anywhere. You are admitting, assuming he learned nothing, he is an unrepentant, violator of his codified professional ethics. Such a person is not worthy. I have never been sanctioned for my professional role as a prosecutor. Paxton has. Yes, I am qualified to speak to an attorney and a prosecutor (AG has to uphold by two codifications) ethical, professional obligations. You are not. The only embarrassment is you, Paxton, and Texas. It was a correct and light punishment for his malfeasance. He should have been suspended from the practice of law and impeached.

sure, sure, let him cook, lane -- Muller did find that the steele dossier was funded by killary/DNC AND had MANY FISA violations -- the problem with it being necessary and correct is that the criminals weren't pursued ! I have posted select findings from the Muller Report that directly contradicted Dr. Easter’s assertions concerning Russia and the election. The Muller report was supported by convictions. A few were interrupted by executive action. Miller deserves respect and gratitude. Paxton is not even a shadow compared to him. Dr. Easter has revealed he sees theAT as the president’s fixer so long as it is a GOO (on purpose) fixer. That is not nor should be the role of the AG. Assuming, Dr. Easter’s assertion is correct that Paxton would not have appointed a Special Counselor to investigate the allegations concerning the election, that alone is more than enough to show Paxton unfit for AG. Cry and cuss some more big guy.
