That is ridiculous. I can still get a draft Yuengling Lager at the Moose lodge for $.90 here in West PA. I can't see me paying $8.50 if there was anywhere else to go.

90 CENTS!!!! Damn, and Yuengling, no less. One of my favorites. Hell, I'd almost move to Penn for that if I didn't have to become a Yankee. Big Grin

OTOH, I hear the Q scene is somewhat dismal. Frowner

People around the northern Alleghenys don't think of themselves as Yankees, being largely the same Scots/Irish stock as a lot of Southerners. Still the q scene here is worse than dismal and the weather is atrocious. If it wasn't for beer this time of the year would be darn near unbearable.

GWB,

I also have a fondness for beer. I blame this as well as my fondness for sausage and single shot rifles on a German heritage.
I was fortunate to work for the largest beverage distributor in the PNW at the time the craft beer world exploded. Although I hate Oregon's liberal politics, they know how to make beer. Located a short distance from me is Widmer Brewing Co., Full Sail Brewing Co., Deschutes Brewing Co., Bridgeport Brewing Co. and dozens of others.

Think I am going to head downstairs and have an IPA now!

Gatogordo,

If that question was directed at me, the answer is yes. I gathered after reading part of GWB's thread that it had went "south" somewhere. I make full use of the "ignore posts from" function. So although I have a pretty good idea who took it there, I have no interest in reading their post(s).

That was a joke which might have been funny if you had read the relevant post. But, as you suggested, you didn't miss anything. I've had beer in glasses and it is fine that way, but I kind of like drinking it the way my mother got me started, out of the bottle. Wink

Here in sticks/Stevensville MT, we have two local breweries.
Best there is and I'm pretty much patron in there as I frequent them on regular basis with excuses like needing to check on local gossip etc.
One brews ales, IPA's and the other lagers and pilsners

That being said, you get the best of all worlds as some of the best hunting is anywhere within 5 Min drive being Big game and waterfowl as well and not to forget some of the best fly fishing you can think of

GE,

you Continentals are so refined.

I'm diggin' on that place setting.

I've now tried three Tripels.

First the Maredsous,

Second the Duvel

and last nite, the Westmalle

of the three, I think the Duvel suits my pallet the most.

Thanks for the education in regards to Tripels.

They are kicking like race horses and you dont have to goss piss like a horse all the time dancing

Im impressed u can get all those beers over there. Great!

Of the ones you mention Duvel is my fav as well.
They all taste even better when served some time in the frezzzer. Big Grin

However, i think it takes some time before general people appreicate these beers. it took me some time as well. Im not Belgian. But now I cannot drink anything else....When in my home country I go buy Belgian beers....

Here's another beer, another type that I like as well that you probably can get in the US as well.

This is the standard summer beer. Preferably served in 1 litre glasses!!!
