Alright, went to the docs the other day. The past few weeks I really haven't been feeling like myself. Just unmotivated, lazy, angry, no interest in anything. Come to find out I've got some low testosterone going on. I suppose that would make sense given I had a ochtenemy a while ago. Are there any tips to help boost up some of this stuff I need? Before the rest of my hair falls out?! Thanks! "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski

You had an orchiectomy? Removal of one or both of your testes? Or a vasectomy-- just clipping your "sperm tubes"? __ Currently, "Low T" seems to be a popular Fad, IMO. Testosterone supplementation can be deadly. Check out NEJM adverse effects of testosterone on the Web. http://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMoa1000485 Also this article: http://www.sciencedaily.com/re.../07/100701072702.htm One study showed about 4X more Adverse Cardiovascular events (heart attack or stroke) with older men getting T. Also, there's increased risk of prostate enlargement and T shouldn't be taken by those who have had prostate cancer. The past few years has seen lots of "pushing" of T because of the "correlation" of High T with "wellness". The real correlation is that when we're young, we have higher T, and that as we age, all of our body parts tend to wear down. You're really "as old as your arteries"--and T makes them worse, not better. Read this (just published earlier this month--same as the NEJM art): http://www.fiercebiotech.com/s...gel-study/2010-07-06 or http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07...html?_r=1&ref=health And a Medscape article on adverse effects of Androgenic/anabolic Steroids (of which T is one) http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/408595_5 Steve "He wins the most, who honour saves. Thanks for the heads up! I had one of my testicles removed and replaced with a prosthetic due to cancer. They were unwilling to put two fakies in there to give the appearance of having three testes though! Trying to keep good humor about it all. In all seriousness I had no idea this was a fad thing though. I definitly know about as you age, naturally it lowers. Left my medical record at the doc's and I forget my numbers but apparently I'm sitting lower than my age suggests. He suggested writing a prescription for some boosters however I'm leery of taking anything. I do live quite an active lifestyle and eat well...reasonably. Nothing significant has happened other than waking up one day without a hint of motivation. Nothing seems to be working, caffeine, driving fast in the gto, joking with my best friend. I know whatever it is it'll pass however I want to fix it now, as my sex life is beginning to suffer. "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski

Get your thyroid tested. Also, try taking zinc suppliments and see if that helps.

My first wife had those symptoms once a month. I fixed it with a divorce.

Seen the AMA report on soy yet? It's in everything these days except black powder, and lowers testosterone. Rich

Thanks for the replies, they put me on shots and I changed my diet and exercise plan. Holy lord, what a change. It's not what I wanted but I feel like a young lad again, and I'm certainly not complaining! Neither is the old lady! Idaho - Yes sir, I've seen soy in just about everything, how disgusting. I try to avoid it as much as possible, not like a poison but like a preferance. I'm a red blooded American male, I like to have my coffee black with some bacon and eggs in the morning. Not that starbucks generation crap these metrosexuals in California rave about. I know I'll never be young again, that's obvious, I can tell I'm slower in life from the replaced hip and knee cap, and shrapnel scars across my left side. There's no regaining youth. But it was a shock to be dragging my heels like that and it causes your mind to be in a fog, a very angry fog. Now everything seems grand again. It may play bad on my heart or my body, but ya know...it's just a kick start back in the seat of the pants. "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski
