Chris was asked to give a seminar so he decided to compete also.
All awards he won were in the Master's Division.
He came home with:
Best All Around Taxidermist
Best Of Show (mountain lion)
Best Large Mammal (mountain lion)
McKenzie Award for Best Mammal (mountain lion)
1st place on his coues and mearns
3rd place on his goldfish..hey not bad for Masters competing against guys who only mount fish..LOL!

Chris harvested this lion in Colorado in 1997, the coues was his 2008 Arizona kill, he sculpt the bobcat bronze holding the mearns and the goldfish was our beloved 'Moby', who I won 13 years ago at our Church Octoberfest throwing a ping pong ball onto a small goldfish bowl...lol! He just passed away a few months ago and for as huge as he got (1# 2oz.), I always wanted him mounted. Big Grin

A 13 year old goldfish! Imagine all the quarters you saved on goldfish you didn't have to buy your kids over the years. Eeker

Nice cougar by the way!

Actually, that goldfish cost me a small fortune! He had a nice big 20 gallon tank set up with an aerator, and numerous goldfish were purchased over the years for companions(some he ate their fins off the others just died in a few years like goldfish should!) along with algae eaters to help keep the tank clean beyond what the filters did...can you imagine how much a 1# goldfish pooped. lol He certainly was quite the conversation piece...then and now! Big Grin

If anybody wants a Goldfish that big I have several hundred in my pond. I have a few around 18 inches. They're free. Fun on a 3 weight fly rod.

Great mounts
