Dennis,

I really like the way you blended the natural and finished parts. They compliment each other very nicely. Not to mention how well the cat looks.

that mount has a very fluid look! i like it a lot.

When working with taxidermy supplies, would it be possible to have the eyes turned in the head? are taxi eyes round or just discs? I only ask because i can't help but think this mount would be THAT much more 'alive' if the cats eyes were on the head of the hare, and his head hadn't caught up.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

i wondered if i was the only person to notice this. when viewing predator/prey mounts, it often seems that the predator's eyes are looking at something off in the distance rather than at the prey. the detail work is superb but it just seems that the caracal is looking elswhere, especially in the second and third photos. maybe its just the perspective seen in the photos. regardless, i would be proud to have this in my home.

It's totally the perspective and angle of the camera. The cat is dead eyeballing the middle of that springhare, the pictures just don't do this piece justice at all.
The cat has his focus on the middle of the hare's body.
Trust me I repositioned him 4 times. Big Grin Big Grin
Pics 1 and 4 are the ones that show it best.

You are exactly right Dennis. Camera angle's make things look a little different.

I like it very much as well. I sent the link to a friend that doesn't post on here and she wondered if it was designed to be a table with the flat top? If so, I'd be afraid to have anything placed on it.

I am in so much trouble now Big Grin

Thanks everyone , Glad you all like it.
I get to do these type of poses and bases when a client tells me "Just make them in hard turns chasing and eluding." I like it when I have some freedom with things.

Thanks Again
DENNIS

I saw it this morning and your right, these pics do not do this mount justice. Amazing piece of art and our client is very happy. Thanks Dennis, and my Leopard looks great along side my Lion. David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
