I have two really well done Water buffalo shoulder mounts from Australia that I shot a few years back. They are really large mounts and I really don't want to put them on the walls any more. I hate to keep them in storage. Do any of the taxidermist have a good idea that maybe I could use to mount them on a pedastal mount without taking up a large part of my house? I know that is asking a lot, but again without a floor mount of some kind they will have to stay in storage. Thanks.

They could be made into pedestal mounts but they will still take up a lot of room. they could also be made to go in a corner (either hanging or as pedestals) instead of on a flat wall. The base of a pedesdtal could be made as a "corner cabinet' that would also help with the space issues. If there is any wall space at all, shoulder mounts really take up less room than the pedestal mounts. Perhaps an addition is in order?

They can easily be made into pedestal mounts, even with both of them on the same pedestal. Jerry Huffaker State, National and World Champion Taxidermist

A double ped would surely be taking up MUCH more room than the two on the wall, no?

I like the idea of a double mount, but I think you are all right. Any way I go it's going to take up a lot of room. Grafton, I would like to have an addition, but I'm too close to retirement to take on the additional debt.

Is there a Sporting Goods store close where you could let them hang the heads? I have a bunch of mine at one of the local stores, but I only get in there a few times each year. Moved them there when I changed residence several years ago. Steve "He wins the most, who honour saves. Success is not the test." Ryan "Those who vote decide nothing. That's an interesting idea, I hadn't thought about that. I'm still thinking about the double pedestal mount. It would be big, but I'll bet it would be cool. Any idea how much that would cost?

They do, but I shot a really old, old broomed bull and a little later in the hunt one in it's prime. The younger bull make the SCI 100 point range (I think, I can't remember, the guide measured it). I had them on the wall, but they just took up so much room.

Depending on the poses and quality of the tanning etc. the shoulder mounts could likely be cut down and adapted into a double pedestal mount with some space savings. One head high and turned one way and the other lower and possibly turned the other or same and looking over under could overlap horns and reduce total mass. As well as turnig them into an impressive piece. Best regards Mike Ohlmann Mike's Custom Taxidermy Inc. 4102 Cane Run Rd.
