When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Winchester 1885. I would love a low wall in 22 hornet with a tang sight.
The Silver Lining Scholarship rifle.
Any and all really nice bolt action .22 rimfires. The Cooper Jackson Squirrel rifle comes to mind.
Springfield M14's
Kimber full size 1911's
Smith and Wesson Mountain gun in .44
A limited number of S&W model 19's that I believe were made for Floriday Highway Patrol that had a 3 inch barrel
Browning A5's
High end double barrel shotguns both over under and sxs.
Cooper Varmint Extreme any caliber. Thats probably enough for now but there are more. DW

Yep, I forgot about Winchester Model 21's when I made my list above. Winchester 21's in 20 gage, with 28" tubes are about as good as it gets for bird hunting.
They sure tug on my soul...

I can agree with a lot on these lists but wouldn't you have to say that any gun you've had lots of great memories with is also a gun with a soul???

Back to #1 on the original list I spent more than I care to admit getting an old hammer SxS (Remington 1889) in safe shooting condition that my grandfather bought for $3.50 in 1930. It's still really ugly and I don't shoot it terribly well (rediculous amount of drop in the stock) but I grin like an idiot everytime I hunt with it and now it's my primary hunting gun just because it's so cool.

I've been half assed thinking about this thread since it was first posted. Besides the usual suspects like pre-64 Model 70's and Pre-War Rigby's I thought of the
Colt 1911, Browning Superposed, Winchester '85, '86, '94.... One thing that became apparent was the common designer inventor, John Moses Browning. Any firearm that man put from concept to production has soul.

Any firearm with history!

An old Berreta Silver Pigeon I have taken many Mallards with in my long lost youth.

My M70 Safari Express in 416 Rem Mag used on my first Safari in the Selous. Took plains game and a Buffalo.

My Krieghoff 470 NE that took care of business when 2 buff wanted to play in the long grass while on a cull hunt.

And any old doulble rifle that shows the signs of heavy usage. Was it used in Africa? Maybe India? If it could talk!
