You see, what happens is that the coon rides the hog under the feeder and then stands up and spins the feeder plate throwing more corn on to the ground.

Neat picture, Thanks for posting it.

Coons? When racoons try to get on our back porch, Momma just chases 'em off with a broom.

I think Kudu56 is on to something here.

The raccoon cant climb the bare leg of the feeder, but if he gets a boost from the hog, he can grab the winch, climb the cable/leg combo and spin the rotor. Out comes the corn and everyone is happy.

Everyone except the guy who has to fill the feeder.

Team efforts are not unusual in nature. The coyote and the badger are well known to be a dig/catch team.

If raccoons weighed 100#, they would take over everything.

If I knew how to post a photo I have a great one of three coons in a row on the ground holding off a buck deer while thier pal spins the feeder to get the corn out of the barrel up above. It was taken from one of the many cameras we have set up on each feeder at my ranch. What a band of robber barrons! Rest assured there is no ladder to get that coon up to the spinner! Big Grin

Nah, if coons were that big, we'd have dozens of hunters on these forums dedicated to hunting NA's other DG lmao

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
