Guys, parabellum's post on seal-hunting in Norway has some excellent picts.
"Borat" is a nut who has made some hilarious videos and a movie--nobody comes off looking good in any of them. The hunters in this one came off fairly lightly compared to some of the other people he has spoofed. Many of us over 50 don't have much patience with that kind of humor, tho.
Parabellum has a point about stupid people in America--any place where the current crop of Democratic candidates has a chance at being chief executive can't claim too much common sense amongst the general population.
Post would have been better received in HumorForum, but let's not harshly criticize parabellum just on the basis of whether or not we find this video funny or not.

i used to watch his show when they sent it some years ago.
some of it was actually funny, but the borat-thing wasn't one of them.
i rented the movie when it came out, but i turned it off after 10 minutes or something like that.
because it was just stupid and boring.

as you can see from that clip its just a lame, stupid character that does weird(but not funny) stuff.
and i fail to see where the Americans in that movie turns out to be the dumb ones.


i know that among certain people there seem to be some kind of trend to hate everything American: the people, the country, their actions, etc.
to that i have only one thing to say, stop watching their tv-shows/movies, listening to their music and dont use/consume an American product.

there are of course idiots and rotten apples in America just as there are everywhere else in the world.

Alan, I don't think he's(parabellum) bashing anybody; every country has their "stupid folk"and I don't see any reason to think you or I are includued in the group.
Borat is just a comedian making a film for money. I have no idea (or care) who or what Borat is in real life.
What I'm saying, is 1) we need to be able to laugh at ourselves--if we can't we're in a mess

I think S.Graves is right, we are beginning to make knee jerk reactions, yet we have had several really good battles on this place about the way hunting is conducted in Texas.

I do not know of even one who would be so rude as to go back to their own country and post an offensive generalization such as you have here. Agreed. Sasha Baron Cohen (aka Borat)is a comedian and does what comedians do. The ranch owner didn't exactly do his part to make hunting or hunters look too good to the viewing public. Who's fault is that?
