Basically USF&W is going to go the direction that Craig Packer says too. The Sec of Interior will most likely follow USF&W's advice. We can try to work with him and continue to hunt lion or we can go against and he will recommend ESA listing.

I wished things were not that way, but unfortunately in our Modern/Enlightened society they are. Once Lions get on the list which is what will most likely happen, I feel that elephants are next.

The only ones that stand to lose are the lions.

Didn't Craig Packer already screw all the lions in Botswana? Do you think he will handle this differently?

Brad,

As an independent party...why don't you talk to Conservation Force about Craig Packer and come back and share your findings with us.

Lane,
If you know something why don't you share. The LCTF is supposed to be leading this fight and you have yet to interject anything but opinion. Everything I have posted has been found with no help from you or the LCTF, I have asked repeatedly in PM's for links and factual information be posted so I could research and form my own opinion, to date all I have seen on this forum is a study posted by Bwanamich for Tanzanian lion. Don't bitch about the info I am finding if you are not willing to divulge related information you already have.

Really simple, if lions go on the list and the Anti's see how easily it is to manipulate USF&W, their next target will be elephants and elephants will garner more sympathy from the public than lions do.

And right down the list until they stop it. They have stated they don't care if they go extinct as long as no hunter can put one on his wall.

Agreed, now if we could just get those on "our side" to see who the "anti's" are. Roll Eyes

Not bitchin' I have read most of CP's stuff. I agree with some and some I don't.

Bottom line though he is considered to be the world's leading expert on the African Lion.

His opinion is going to count. Like it or not.

And...unlike you...I have actually spoken to the fellow.

Did you get his autograph? Why do I need to speak with someone to read one of their publications and have an opinion on it.

I truly see this as part of the problem here Lane, you are more concerned about what you have done and who you have met and getting recognition for it than you are about sharing information so people can decide for themselves. You already know it all and have mede the decision for everyone, so they need to sit down, shut up and do as you tell them. It would appear that you desire to treat others as the ones telling you what to do treat you. I have news for you Lane, Shit rolling downhill only affects me if I choose to stand downhill from you.

You amaze me with the stuff you conjure up?

I said I had read that paper long ago. This is 2011.

So that maybe you could learn something from his lifetime of lion research. Just like I did and just like Aaron did.
