Some days she doesn't care, if so it's easy to out shoot her. But on the occasion when she feels competitive, I really have to work hard to out shoot her. She can beat me anytime with iron sights, She has a 22 revolver, she is scary good with, a Remington model 21 pump 22 is the one with irons sigths she can keep a can skipping with, and a 38. She doesn't shoot it as often but she shoots it well. I definitely wouldn't want to come home if she found out I had a girlfriend. Its a good thing I don't cause I'd be dead. DW

My wife is a very good shot.....to good probably.

That is why I keep a 12 gauge single shot in the bedroom corner and a box of 20 gauge shells next to it.

Gives me just enough time to get the hell out of the house while those 20 gauge shells are sliding down that 12 gauge barrel.

Wifezilla is just fair with a handgun but the girlfriend can't shoot at all.

My middle daughter on the other hand is deadly with a handgun and rifle. She's an LEO for a local PD and routinely cleans everyone's clocks with the AR15 during qualification and proficiency. They do a run and gun qualification shooting from barricades, going prone, the whole routine. She shot the first perfect score on the range and has never been beat in three years. Three days ago she shot the course, fell down with 4 shots to go and cracked her kneecap. She took a 0 on the last four targets and still wound up with the highest score for the day.

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

Lora does not shoot that much, but with the exception of a hunt on the 29th. of May this year, she has not ever missed.

The reason she missed this time is becuse she was rushed taking the shot.

Given normal circumstances she has had a one shot kill streak going on for several years now on white tails/javelina and rabbits.

And from the two times she had the chance, is not a bad wing shot on doves.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

My girl is so good it makes me almost sick at my stomache...

She had never shot any type of rifle with optics in her life. So I let he shoot the 22LR first. She was shooting thumbnail groups of 10 at 50 yrd within 5 minutes. So I let he shoot the .204 out to 100 yards, once again thumbnails sized groups of 5, then she got cocky so we stretched the target out to 300, once again she managed a amazing groups of about 3" in a 10MPH croswind...

But one thing I noticed, when i was coaching her on how to shoot a rifle accuratly she listened to every word in detail. First shot of course I told her dont even worry about hitting anything. Just shoot the rifle and feel it before you engage anything. Then it was a matter of telling her to breathe, slow down and feel the trigger pull. once she got that down it was game on...Now I just need to get her to shoot the 7mm Mag and see her 550yrd groups.

I took my maintenance section out shooting yesterday morning for fun, brought a lot of different rifles for them all to try since most of them own AR-15's. The one female in the section doesn't even own a firearm and showed all the boys up.

We set up a bunch of 16-20 oz plastic bottles filled with water at 100 yards. While the boys were blazing away with the AR's she went 15-15 with my 6x47 Stevens 200. Guys were getting upset because she was shooting all the targets.

Then she wanted to shoot my .375 Ruger, went 3-3 on an 8" gong at 100 yards as well off a bipod on the bench wearing a tank top. She would have shot more but I didn't bring a whole lot of ammo for that rifle (she was giggling every time she hit the gong). All the guys only shot one shot each and all but one were so scared of it that they missed the gong.

My wife doesn't care much for target shooting..just does that enough to make sure her rifle is on...

She has taken several antelope at ranges of 200 to 400yds, several whitetails, and wild hogs...the hogs were headshot or stuck with a knife...

She never picked up a rifle until we got married 3 years ago...and she will turn 60 in a few months...so I guess some ladies pick up this shooting thing quite easily...even as they get older... Her next project: concealed carry permit...she used to dislike handguns, until she shot my 40XD.... Big Grin

Wife is qualified to hit most anything within 100 Yd. with a pistol 38/357 even my .44 ,although she prefers

not to use it . ( Could be my loads ! Smiler ) . With a Rifle depends on brutality of recoil , first shot never a

problem however follow up shots can be problematic !. Trap & Skeet she enjoys and didn't care for my 12

gauges so I got her a sweet semi auto 20 gauge .

She's very proficient with a pistol and shotgun and I wouldn't

want to be popping out or running within 50 yd. of her , with ill intentions in mind !.

She does not care for any of my .338's or 375 H&H , she was OK with M14's , M1's and AR's .

She's not the Hunter only a paper puncher and she's a "Staunch advocate for Gun Control" !.

Guns in Her Hand punching any dam paper she believes needs punching and never has had a problem with Law

abiding citizens owning, whatever type firearm they choose to own !. I've taken her to meets out of State

a few times and guess what she always wants to do ; Shoot FULLY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS !!!. Eeker

Seriously GO FIGURE . salute archer archer

I keep a reminder of how well she shoots up over my bench. 5 shots from the 45acp at 20 paces through the same hole. (and yes I watched her do it) It was the first time she ever even shot the darn thing.

Daughter is just as bad. She intimidated more boys in school and after than I could keep up with. Wasn't bad enough she out shot them but she out fished them too.

The wife got into shooting when she met me, and liked my 44mag with full power loads from the bench until I got her a GP-100, then she just shamed me to no end. The daughter grew up shooting what ever I had with me and has only backed down from the 454 and I don't hold that against her.

The girlfriend, just refer to the first paragraph.

My wife isn't the best shot. She doesn't enjoy shooting that much but when we do go out shooting her prefered shooting Iron of choice is my .357mag. She doesn't like shooting my auto pistols as they are snappy. I let her shoot the .480 ruger with light target loads but the pistol was just to heavy for her. She likes shooting my .204 Ruger and her first group ever was an 1.5" 5 round group at 100yds. She didn't think anything of it and lost interest until she told her friends and now they are wanting me to take them shooting. None of them have even held a firearm much less shot one.

Well with a handgun 45ACP and smaller she is as good if not better than me. Her hand eye coordination is for sure better than mine as well as vision. The big magnums cause her some issues at only 5'4" and 115#.

With her 5x57 or 22-250 as long as the range is such that she can make a point of aim shot (275yds and less) and has something to rest against I wouldn't bet against her. She has simply not had the time to practice long range plus 275 is probably a good limit for the 7x57 and large game.

As usual just my $.02

Last time we checked, she put nine out of ten shots of rapid fire into a stuffed gunny sack hanging at 15 feet using the "instinctive" shooting method.
