Sounds good boom! I really like the 358 Norma. Sometimes I wish Winchester came out with that instead. It's one cart I've secretly been wanting for a long time. I first heard of the 35 Newton, in an article about a 35 Belted Newton. It's essentially a 358 Norma.

yes, they are twins but if you use the ruger brass and form with newton dies you will exceed the norma or have lower preasure...figure 95 grains capacity approx and that is the safe estimate...the newton brass had strong thick webbing and ate up capacity. i could post the figure soon, i have a newtonized 375 ruger case here thanks to white bison 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. The "best" .35s in my opinion are the short ones ... 358Win for the non-magnum hunter, 350RemMag for the belted fans. Cheers... Con

+1 on the 35 Newton - fantastic cartridge (and I own a Whelen). Does anyone have any information on the Lazzeroni .358 - the 9.09 Eagle? Looks like a super fast short magnum, similar to the 35 Sambar.

If there were no .358 s out there then no one would miss them! The bullets should move from .338 to .375 and skip everything in between! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Haven't had it measured BUT, if a 308 is a 300, a 311 is a 303 and a 358 is a 350, then a 366 IS a 358!!! Heh, can't sleep.

A blatant shot across the bow . . . The one thing I've discovered since joining this forum is that it's certainly a territorial crowd. Seriously though, I consider myself a big fan of the .35's, but I can see why they got "lost in the shuffle" here in the U.S.
