I just came home from my deer hunting camp. My youngest son came to the camp directly from college. Yesterday afternoon, he managed to shoot a damn nice, yet unusual 11 point whitetail.

He shot the deer with his 30-06. He shot it with a 165 grain Barnes Triple Shock bullet. I have to say that I have rarely seen a bullet cause that much devastation. It was amazing what it did to that deer.

Personally, the only Barnes bullets I have ever shot were solids in a dangerous game rifle. I was very impressed with the performance of Triple Shock. I may well try them in other calibers.

Welcome to the club. (Better late than never!) I shoot the TSX in 270, 300 Win, 300 WSM, 375H+H and 416 Rigby. I've used them on everything from pronghorn antelope, to elk, moose, Cape Buffalo, and hippo, to name just a few. Consistent, awesome wound channels, and fantastic penetration with 99%+ weight retention are their hallmark. All at a reasonable price, with excellent accuracy. What's not to like?

TSXs are all I've used lately, both in .270 and .308 - they're accurate and effective. Additionally, the fact that it has no lead in it makes it easier to use here in Kalifornia, where there are restrictions on the use of lead bullets.

I've used the TSX in 7 mag and 375 H&H and loved them. I'm just starting to work up a load for my 6.5x284 with them. I'm slowly switching all my hunting guns over to them.

As the others have mentioned, I am also a fan so to speak.

I've used the TSX on brown bears, moose, deer, african plains game and two cape buffalo. I have never been dissapointed.

Also try the newer TTSX. The blue provides quicker expansion on long range.

I have been amazed with the performance of the TSXs in .30, .338, .375 range. Just loaded for the 416, have to take that out next year....

Larry:

I shot that lion with a .338 TSX; I used it for all of my plains game as well except for that eland, which I used my .416.

In the last few years I have also shot elk and moose with it. Very effective.

I use a .308 for deer with 165 Hornady SSTs, but this year I used a 180 gr SP - it left a .30 caliber exit wound. But the deer was dead.

JWP475 is right. They shoot straight. Two killt deer with 110gr. TTsx from a 270wby, both between 350 and 375 yards, complete pass through, DRT, and the hole was right where I doped it. I really like these bullets!

Larry,

I've used the TSX almost exclusively in the last couple of years on everything from grysbok to buffalo and I've been very happy. I honestly do not think they kill quite as quickly as a bullet that fragments like the Nosler Partition but the penetration is certanly there to allow a shot from any angle. They also have been surprisingly accurate with minimal load development in the 4 rifles I've shot them in.

I do not like Barnes Bullets at all. They put to much copper in my rifle barrels. That's me.

Try the Tubb Final Finish Bullets to smooth out the bore. Worked like a charm for me.

Add me to the list of TSX advacates. I want to try the tipped TSX's. Should give more rapid expansion.
