I enjoyed reading again all the comments from many of the posters we seldom see any more. Pleasant nostalgia for sure. Thanks roger
Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

| Why not just do the 8mm/06 and be done with it???
Why take second best, when it is just as easy to go with the better of the two? |

With a long action, I did.....but it miked out .338/06 Hard to complain 200 2909 fps, and 225@ 2670 in a 23" shooting 1/2 moa with 6x scope even at 200 yds! I was VERY happy, but the bolt handle broke off the 700 and for no other reason that a faulty braze and I lost faith in the gun, not the round. No feedback needed on my bad Rem experience, please. |

| Andy Pridham, creator of that diagram, is a bright Canadian software engineer that has done some impressive load work with the Carcano and the 8x63. He must have a doorbell hooked up to his computer, because he returns email so fast |
