They were trying to do a rimless version of the 454 Casull, but it didn't really take off. They should have just chambered for the 454. A shop in town has one in the case. I think it's around $1000-1200? You could get them with many cylinders, the 450, 45 win mag and 45 acp.

Had 3 of them. Got one when they were first available with a 45 Win Mag cylinder. Second from a doctor who had it in the back of his plane. Got it for $400, because he couldn't find ammo for it. And the third was cheap again for I think it was $475 NIB, because ammo couldn't be found anywhere. NAA actually made me a 45 Colt and a 454 Casull cylinder for one of the guns. Only problem with the 454 casull chambering, was that it could only use the 260 grain load. Something about a shorter cylinder than the FA? Got brand new brass from NAA. I think they were in red plastic ammo boxes of 50. Wasn't a bad gun with Millet sights. Wooden grip was I think a Herrett grip? The new brass I got from NAA had a black film in the inside of the neck. They told me they asphalted the bullets in, to prevent bullet jump, because of the taper crimp. Had all sorts of problems shooting heavy reloads, because of the taper crimp. Had to use cut down .308 cases originally, when ammo was hard to get. But when got hooked up with someone at NAA, could get as much brass as I wanted(but funds were limited so didn't buy in big bulk). Used the 45 Colt and 454 cylinder most of time anyway. Sold them because I got into the FA guns.

There's an article on my website that details the North American Arms 450 Express. I have one and they're pretty well built guns. Lee Martin www.singleactions.com

If they keep the same 06 sized rim, it sounds like a great little thumper for a short action mauser. If the pressure isn't too high, maybe the 93 or 94.

45 blaser is a better option imho or just neck the 284 to 458 and headspace off the case mouth 577 BME 3"500 KILL ALL 358 GREMLIN 404-375 *we band of 45-70ers* (Founder) Single Shot Shooters Society S.S.S.S. (Founder)
