Well to each his own but SAFARIKID is bringing some serious style to the gun world. Just make some linnen micarta handles and I would think it is perfection! Talk about a potent power packace!

JWP, just because I personally do not like the look does not make a hill of beans to anyone but me. I am not going to blow smoke up his ass, and say I like the look of the gun, just because Jack Huntington did the work. It does not have anything to do with workmanship, just the look.

Gary Reeder has some of his models I do not like the look of, and I would not buy them. So don't make this personal.

I am entitled to my opinion and if you don't like it, get over it. No need being an asshole all the time, but I understand it is normal for you.

What's your point Hitman?????
I did not say one thing bad about the mans gun. I just stated I did not like the look. Hell I don't like the look of a lot of guns.
Did I comment about workmanship? NO!!! Or for that matter anything else. I have a Jack Huntington custom gun. But that does not mean I have to like every thing he does.

And there was no need for JWP Ass hole to make a comment about Gary Reeder, it was not even in issue here, but just his smart ass making stupid comments once again.

SAFARIKID, my comment was in no way trying to take away from your gun. We all have different likes and dislikes in guns. So I know you are a better man than some here, and did not take offence to my opinion.

Jack Hunting does some great work, so do a lot of other custom gun makers. I have seen stuff from all of them, I don't care for, it is just personal preference.

If you took offence to my comment, I apologies to you "only."

Well, I would have done it slightly different, but, that's me.

For a carry gun, or belly gun, I'm not sure that I'd go with an octagon barrel, since I don't like sharp edges the way I carry. Likewise, maybe a bobbed hammer.

Now, the birdshead grip I'm going to be real intrested in hearing reports on. My experience with my Max is the 'hump' in the Bisley grip just hammers my palm with heavy loads.
Birdshead sort of looks like the same issue to me. The FA or BFR grip angle seems to work better for me(see picture below)

I'm also going to be real intrested to see what you settle on for shooting loads, defense loads, and hunting loads.

Your gun, and my Detonics Combatmaster weigh about the same. shocker I want to see what you end up with for carry loads.

I've always wanted a .500JRH caliber gun, with about a 4" barrel for house carry, in my cross draw Thomas Pefectionist holster:

Bottom one is Jacks, and, it gets full velocity with .500JRH ammo.

Hellboy looks like he could find his way into thunderwear, no problems, and, would, with 265-350 grain bullets be the ultimate snubbie.
Since the gun doesn't have an ejector, I'd tend to stay on the bottom end of the reloading table for loads. Jack did say standard .500JRH ammo, and, what he tested it with just fell right out of the gun, with no sticking at all, 100% of the time.
I think that little gun would be a ton of fun...

Thanks! I luv it so much,I just bought another and as soon as it gets here,it is going to Jack...we already discussed it! This time,a 2" Octagon, and it will stay 45LC(heavy loads of course) and Ivory Grips for it,the dull satin finish and possible bobbing the standard hammer(my new one was changed to a Bisley Hammer)...I have already decided on the 500 to use the 275XLC Barnes HP "FlyinAshtrays" hilbilyJack said right at 1500 and they did Alot of damage on a mud hill, alot thumbI do have his med and heavy load cast bullets in case I want to do a Bison this fall(a 1 ton animal with a 35ounce snub)as the 425s come out at 1200+ from the
2 1/2" barrel!...Now,for the record,I do these because I like them,I like to be different and I do always carry a handgun when hunting just cause it makes me feel so good Smiler Sure,it would be a slow reload, but thats no problem because IF he aint down with 5 Fifties,I am already running, climbing and praying! Eeker....I luv the octagon as it looks cool and differnt and the edges are Not sharp, and then its in my lil crossdraw too...
Spoke to the engraver,Bruce Bradshaw who did "Mastodon" and we gat a western theme planned out with barb wire, cattle brands and Hellboy in Western style lettering down the backstrap vertically.Maybe some small flames arund that and on the end of the lil barrel!....Then it is off to John Taffin as Jack said he wanted to do a article on it!I hate to send it off! CRYBABY
PS.When I want to be "Normal",I do have regular cannons with ejector rods(BFR and Smith 50/110s and 500s) clap

What is the base gun you are using to start with?
Seems to me Birdshead Rugers aren't real easy to find in stainless...
Starting with a Montado?

Hat's off on finding em. Amazing, really.
Haven't ever scene one in Kali. Shop here wants 750 for a Montado, and, it's not worth that when a BFR is 800...
Pretty amazing ballistics with a 2" barrel. Wonder what a 3" would do?
Buffalo isn't going to know a 440 @ 950 fps came out of Hellboy or a full sized gun.
I can't help but think 260-300 grain HPS are the perfect SD round, and, 1200-1500 fps should be fine.
Might look at some of Hawk's thin jacketed, .025" HP's as well.

I don't see that gun as being slow to reload. Tip it up, and the cases fall right out. YOu've only got two hands, one has to turn the cylinder, the other hold the gun...

Get back to me on how it shoots, I can't wait to hear...
