Tom -I had a sneeky feeling you had shot a 45-70 deringer clapMan i bet that doggone thang stung like a giant hornet sting or a boat paddle slap on the hand like they use to do us kids in the old days when the teachers could child abuse us and it was ok,man what paddleings
i got for being rowdy,i wouldnt have missed it for the world,I owe some of my toughness to all those school teacher lessons learned the hard way so to speak...yes sir may i have another, blam, yes sir may i have another blam as the 45-70 kicked and bucked like a wild bronco!
Thats awsome! clapMy hand would go numb just thinking about that hoss, thats tough for sure!I figured you would get a kick seeing the oldtimers, man i looked up that 41rimfire ammo, wow is that stuff high& rare,I would like to have a couple to shoot and check the old deringer and another to keep her loaded up and maybe a couple more for insurance in case i need more than 2 shots...those babys would be cool worked into a 22short.now that is a baby round...Have you seen the pendersoli Howda double barrel black powder pistol?I asked to day, they make them in 20gauge sxs, that would be a pumpkin ball round, what you think,.50calx.50cal or 20x20 both sound fun!The 20 gauge could be loaded with buckshot in one barrel and big patched round ball in the other?
Have you seen one yet?The one i saw had a warthog engraved on one side, bear on the other!pretty neat,I want one, more than likely .50x.50cal..thats a hard choice what i really need is one in both! That would give me 4 quick shots and lots of lead flying, sorta like....Lucus MCcain clap BOOM shocker hilbilyor rooster cogburn....Yea yaw can call me Lucus "blackbearhunter" MCcain thats got a ring to it!I would rather have a rhino or tiger or mastadon engraved on the sides instead of the ugly warthog ..a Big black Ga.russian boarhog would be mo better, the bear is perfect,I wonder if they would do me one special?anyways glad you got home and rest up we gotta go after them wild boars here soon before the skeeters/chiggers/ticks/snakes/ hatchout hilbily & take little Hellboy for a Hunting trip lol

Tom: I've got a Dillon press up at Jack's. If you can save brass, or want to buy it, and, the price and volume justifies driving 4 hours, I'll be happy to custom load anything you want in .500JRH, with Jack doing the initial testing and setup.

SAVE YOUR BRASS!

I was talking to Danny Reed, he was talking to me about your gun. He said Hell Boy and I knew exactly who's gun he made the holster for.

I have 3 holsters, and a few other thing that Danny Reed Made for me. He does a great job.

I am glad you like his work. I am getting ready to order another holster from him for my custom Redhawk in 410 GNR.

My buddy ordered a holster from him as well, and is getting ready to order 2 more.

I would love to see a picture of the holster.

Have you considered a .500 Nitro Express Howdah pistol?

Just ran recoil numbers for it: MIGHT be a tad much, with the stock, 570 grain load:
Recoil Energy of 714 foot pounds, and Recoil Velocity of 214 fps. rotflmo

I really like that little cannon as well just not into octagon barrels on round Vaquero frames.

Have fun and you've got me thinking now, I have a couple of 45 Colt Ruger Bisley Vaquero's that need a little work over..

I handled Hellboy over the weekend and it is stunning to say the least. Didn't get the chance to shoot it, but it looks painful with the stag grips. VERY cool and fantastic workmanship! Oh, and Tom's a really nice guy!

Great bunch of guys at the hunt! I am also sorry we never had a chance to shoot but hunting was hard due to weather conditions. Too much time wasted trying to find pigs moving.
Rough drive home and I am still whipped out, even feels like bed sores from the van seats.
I enjoyed everyone's company and hope we can meet again sometime.
