Five us were hog hunting last weekend south of Utopia, Texas. We had a first for all of us. We were "running & gunning" hogs in the lower pastures after dark with the spotlight. Matt shot a big 250+ pound boar. The boar went down. The boar got up, wounded and PO'd. It then proceeded to charge the side of the truck full-speed. You can see the impact damage and the scrapes from the tusks. After ramming the truck, it took off toward the high grass and the river. Matt put another round in him before he hit the brush. We waited until morning to go find him, not wanting to track a big wounded and angry boar into the waist high brush at night. We found him 20 yards from the river. We ended up taking 10 hogs.

The truck.

Bobcat,

Great hunt and report. But the hunts I've been on with you and everything I know of that you're involved with is always top notch.

Also, better the truck than someones femoral artery.

Hope to hunt with you again soon.

Did the Blackbuck (bucks) move back on the ranch. Pretty property, just needs a little TLC.
Glad you had a nice hunt.

Man that country just screams hunting... Beautiful.
Hard case, but not surprising, the charge. Gotta admire something that will take on a truck.

It was quite an experience.

woodsie-This is a different ranch than the one I guide the free-range blackbuck hunts on. To answer your question, there are some nice bucks over there that we will be hunting right after deer season.

Bob,
I was actually talking about clays ranch. I hunted there in march with clay. The blackbuck males apparently left 4 days before I got there.
Nice ranch. We stayed mostly up high in the hills.
Glad you had a nice hunt.

They have spotted a few blackbucks, but not many. There are a lot of free-ranging Axis and Aoudad. I am going to hunt for an Axis buck in August. I have been wanting a free-range Axis for a long time.

Nice bunch of porkers you all got there. I had one do that to me on a Polaris 400 once. He was hit on the move from about a hundred yards out, and I was looking for where he went into the brush when he decided to come back out. All I had time to do was draw my revolver and raise up my leg and hope for the best. He hit just under the front fender and just about flipped me over. After feeding him a lead sammich he was quite a bit more content.

I was out that way back in May over in the Barksdale area. Had a good time, and the scenery was just as good.
