Wow...well done, my friend. Now we need some details, ya' know!

I definitely see a sharpening session for your knives in your immediate future. That's a lot of pork to skin on that trailer.

nope,

I'm short, fat, bald and old and common as dirt. I operate within a narrow band of mediocrity. Don't do anything real good. Don't do anything real bad, so I figure I'm JAPPFT,

George,

I got up about 6 AM Thursday and was in the heat most all day. Went out in the gloaming to fill feeders when it was a little cooler. My bud and I came back in about 9:30 and grilled a couple rib-eyes. We had a couple adult libations when my bud said that all he had done for the last two days was work. He said, "It's a nice night, why don't we take a ride on the 4-wheelers. We did. It was about 11:PM then. I mentioned that I had my hog pen set. We went to check. My pen is about 100 yards off the road, and the trap door can not be seen from the road. We rode up fast, and I had my Winchester Defender Pump laid across my legs. I pulled up about 5' from the pen and all hell broke loose. There were 13 or so hoglets in this sounder. IIRC, one pretty good size boar,(the one with the backstraps removed) three wet sows and the rest shoats. I was still on a roll when the boar jumped over the hog panel. I saw what was taking place and as he hit the ground I nailed him with the buckshot. I only had 4 more rounds loaded and I emptied this in the pen at the melee. Now mind you that my ATV lights were pointed straight ahead and the pen was located directly to the right of the headlight beams so I was shooting in the dark at shadows. IIRC two managed to get out during the melee. One of the sows repeatedly charged the gate door head on at a dead run. My bud has his 1911 with 8 rounds of hardball, and since it was late and I was tired I was carrying my Glock 43 with 7 rounds. I forgot that my spare mag was empty. I get careless sometimes. Well, we ran out of bullets before we ran out of hoglets. We loaded ourselves back on our four-wheelers for more bullets and my trailer. We came back and finished them off, and loaded the carcases on the trailer. It was a little after 1 AM, and I was buzzed and tuckered. As GatoGordo used to say, "to make a long story short", a skinning knife got to that one. I stripped out the loins on the boar, had another adult libation and crashed, fleas and all.

JAPPFT,

GWB

No sir. I do believe at least three escaped.....

Here is a game cam photo at a different location.

I count 13 hoglets in the sounder.

There are at least two other sounders that I have identified. One has about 20 pigs.

ya!
