Place : La Pampa Province - Banana Republic of Argentina Species Hunted: Five Wildboards (Four Males & one Female) Species Sighted: Wildboars (No less than a total of 20 per night in four different blinds, Ñadues (Native Ostriches) Maras (Patagonian Big Rabbits), Rabbits, WildCats, all type of nasty insects - No snakes thanks to God (Only Our President, Cristina Kirchner on Tv ) Guns used: Remington BDL de Luxe Cal. 300 Win. Mag Ruger Hawkeye .308 Winch, Mauser Studzen Custom 300 W.M., Mauser Custom .375 H&H, CZ 550 Cal. 3006, Paraordenance P-14-45 Ammo: In most of the cases We used Handloads with Balistic tip Bullets 180 grs (Too much meat damage) but the animal died in place, except with the 308 (Wildboard Runs 70 yards with a lung shoot) Dear Friends, just arrived from La Pampa province near Rio Negro province limit. Saint Hubertus and Artemisa, blessed Me with a "Quantity trip": four Wildboards, and My friend Marcelo with a "Quality trip": A huge Wildboar with 8 " (20 cmm Aprox.) tusks . The Hunt was made in natural blinds (Trees, heavy brush , some improvised blinds with sleeping coats near the water holes and "track places" from 19.00 to 3:00, taking care all the time about the wind direction changes . We used, to atract the pigs, some pounds of putrefact corn, My truck is now in the washing machine, jejeje . A fantastic wild place, but with some serious issues: Hot weather (about 38ºc) impossible to take a nap, hundreds ticks, all types of blood suckers, big red ants, bugs and of course those "little" spiders that I will show you below, walking all around the place !!!, heavy bush with big and long thornss, my legs upper portion looks like hell !! But no complains, We were very lucky, Not any poissonous snakes were found by any of Us. We sighted some puma tracks near a big Patagonian Rabbit known as MARA, We found it dead but still warm near those Puma tracks, a lot of ostriches, some Wildcats, but sorry, no Reed Deers, this are not the usual places to find those magnificent critters. Some lessons that I learnt: Use heavy (thick) pants to avoid big thorn injuries while you are walking through this agressive bush, of course: snake proff boots, leather gloves preferable, a camelback hidratation system, sun protector. Hide some salamis and some bottles of beers under Your bed if You want to taste some of this during Your stay , otherwise Your friend will do for You without pang of conscience and no mercy. Of course We eated cow and pig BBQ´s and an excelent small full Pig made with his own skin and hair in a mud oven, really delicious. Well, We decided to rent that property to Hunting & fishing pourposes during a Year between four close friends. (Cheaper for Us) and We will be Hunting truly wild animals, not just canned trophys in the common Pampa Hunting ranchs. I took all my Boards with one shot (one in the neck with 300 w.m. other in the low shoulder, other was a lung shot (That ran about 70 yards) and We had to track it during two hours at night (Not a good blood trail) The big one monster was killed by Marcelo on His own feet with a 300 WM Loaded with Nosler Balistic tip, Heart shot, and I took the last small female pig from the truck during a scout with My New - Paraordenance (Five shots, only one hit (spine) but at 40 yards running ..... I hope You like the photos and found entertaining this shot report. Cheers Guille. One sweet visitor at the tent: Take a look the size and tusk!!! Guillermo Congratulations a real nice hunt. I am really amazed by the extremly long snout of your boars. The some for Juan Pozzi's boars In Europe the snout is shorter by far. Compare with Donner's big boar J B de Runz Be careful when blindly following the masses ... generally the "m" is silent

Compare with Donner's big boar Thanks Jean !!!, Yees, very long nose, perhaps a litle sing of evolution or adaption of the European Wildboar: Sus Scrofa specie to survive in extreme conditions; the Rio Negro Province as arid ground, hard weather & maybe they need more stronger and big nose to get their food & they still keep his pure european blood because the lack of domestic pig in this area.Regards Guille "Every ignored reallity prepares its revenge!"
