Went to check game cams. This was on the cam! First thought it was a big collie dog! The whole sounder looked similar! I know what I'll be hunting Friday night!

That is special. Wished we had more like that up here in Archer and Young .

We occasionally see or kill one or two similar to those but those are special.

The majority of the hogs in this area still look like domestic pigs for the most part.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

They are hairy like some European wild boar.

An acquaintance of mine imported "Russian wild boars" a few years ago and stocked them on his high fenced and hog fenced ranch in west Texas.

Before you ask, yes, he went to considerable effort to remove all existing porkers from his property before stocking the imported hogs.

He sent me pix of a pair and they are on PB - though tedious, I will try to be patient and retrieve them from there and post them here.

Sorry, but PB is still too slow to tolerate. If I ever find those pix, I will post.

Man! At first glance I thought that pig was a coyote with a messed up head.

Unusual. Lot of Russian in them.

Ya know, Live Oak, if I had to have wild hogs rooting up the neighborhood, I'd rather have these guys than the run of the mill. Is it dazed and confused to consider leaving a few of this sounder? I mean, I'd hate to have them all shot out and back to the really ugly ones, you know. Probably dangerous thinking on my part.

WOW!
Those pigs look just like the boars you often see engraved on European Drillings and doubles!
